This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Borosil 1000W Handheld Garment Steamer, Model GS01. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and retain it for future reference.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Always ensure the power outlet matches the voltage specified on the appliance.
  • Do not immerse the steamer in water or other liquids.
  • Keep the steamer away from children and pets.
  • Exercise caution when handling hot steam. Keep hands and face away from the steam nozzle.
  • Unplug the appliance from the power outlet before filling or emptying the water tank, and when not in use.
  • Do not operate the steamer with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • Use only distilled or demineralized water to prevent mineral buildup and prolong the life of the appliance.

Setup

  1. Fill Water Tank:
    • Press and hold the release button located at the bottom of the steamer to detach the water tank.
    • Using the provided water cup, fill the detachable water tank with distilled or demineralized water up to the MAX line. Do not overfill.
    • Reattach the water tank securely until it clicks into place.

  2. Attach Brush (Optional): For fabrics that require lint removal or deeper steam penetration, attach the detachable cloth brush to the steam head.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the steamer into a 16 Amp power outlet. The power indicator lamp will illuminate.
  4. Pre-heating: Allow approximately 35 seconds for the steamer to heat up. The indicator lamp will change or turn off when ready, depending on the model.

Operating Instructions

  1. Garment Preparation: Hang the garment on a hanger. For best results, pull the fabric taut with one hand while steaming with the other.
  2. Steaming Technique:
    • Hold the steamer upright for vertical steaming or horizontally for flat surfaces.
    • Press the steam release trigger to emit steam. Move the steam head slowly over the fabric, allowing the steam to penetrate and relax the fibers.
    • The steamer supports dual steam modes (High & Eco) for different fabric types. Select the appropriate mode as needed.

  3. Delicate Fabrics: For delicate fabrics like silk or heavily embroidered items, hold the steamer slightly further away from the fabric or use the Eco steam mode.

  4. Finishing: Once steaming is complete, release the steam trigger and allow the garment to cool and dry before wearing or storing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Empty Water Tank: Always empty the water tank after each use to prevent water stagnation and mineral buildup.
  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the steamer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Descaling: Periodically, if you notice reduced steam output or white residue, descale the steamer. Consult the Borosil customer support for recommended descaling procedures or use a steam burst feature with distilled water.
  • Storage: Store the steamer in its carry pouch in a dry place when not in use.

Troubleshooting
