5. Installation Guide

  1. Choose Mounting Location: Select a suitable flat surface on your vehicle, boat, or equipment. Ensure there is enough space behind the panel for wiring.
  2. Prepare Mounting Hole:
    • If using the provided panel, mark the positions for the two mounting screws.
    • For flush mounting the meter directly, drill a 29mm (approximately 1.1 inches) diameter hole.
  3. Insert Voltmeter:
    • If using the panel, insert the voltmeter into the panel's circular opening.
    • Secure the voltmeter to the panel using the nylon nut from the back.
    • Then, attach the assembled unit to your chosen surface using the two mounting screws.
  4. Wiring Connections:
    • Connect the red wire from the voltmeter to the positive (+) terminal of your DC power source (e.g., battery or ignition-switched positive).
    • Connect the black wire from the voltmeter to the negative (-) terminal of your DC power source or a suitable ground point.
    • Ensure connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.
  5. Test Operation: Once wired, apply power to the circuit. The voltmeter display should illuminate and show the current voltage.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Display does not light up.No power supply, incorrect wiring, or voltage outside operating range.
  • Check if the red wire is connected to positive (+) and black wire to negative (-).
  • Ensure the power source is active and providing voltage.
  • Verify the voltage is within the 8-48V DC operating range.
  • Check for any blown fuses in the circuit.
Inaccurate voltage reading.Poor connection, faulty wiring, or external interference.
  • Ensure all connections are tight and free from corrosion.
  • Test the voltage of the power source with another known accurate voltmeter to compare readings.
  • Relocate the voltmeter if it's near strong electromagnetic interference.
Display flickers or is intermittent.Unstable power supply or loose connection.
  • Check the stability of the power source.
  • Inspect all wiring connections for looseness.
