Setup and Initial Use

Upon receiving your AIRPLUS Dehumidifier, it is crucial to consult the included user guide and manual. Before plugging in and operating the unit, ensure it has been sitting upright for 24 hours. This allows the internal components to settle properly after transit, ensuring optimal performance and longevity. Unboxing is straightforward: simply open the box, remove the large styrofoam cap, and lift the unit out using its handle. The user guide, user manual, and 4-foot drain hose are conveniently located on top of the unit.

Operating Modes and Control Panel

The dehumidifier features a digital display control panel that provides information on temperature, humidity, and timer settings. It offers four distinct operating modes to suit various needs:

  • Standard Mode: Operates within a 40%-80% humidity range with continuous operation.
  • Raining Mode: Automatically sets humidity to 45% to combat external dampness.
  • Sleeping Mode: Features an advanced noise reduction design, operating at less than 46 decibels to ensure quiet operation, ideal for bedrooms or quiet spaces.
  • Drying Mode: Designed to dry delicate clothes or items that are damp, such as jackets after rain, by drawing out moisture from the air.

The control panel allows for easy adjustment of humidity levels and includes a 24-hour timer for preset operation, helping to reduce energy consumption. The unit also has an automatic defrost function to prevent water from freezing in colder environments. The advanced noise reduction system ensures the unit operates quietly, making it suitable for common areas without causing disturbance.

Drainage Options

The AIRPLUS Dehumidifier offers two convenient drainage methods:

  • Continuous Drainage (Drain Hose): For hassle-free, continuous operation, connect the included 3.9 ft (1.2m) drain hose to the designated port on the back of the unit. Ensure the hose is directed to a suitable collection pit or drain.
  • Large Capacity Water Tank: The unit features a 0.8-gallon (2.5-liter) water tank. When the tank is full, the dehumidifier will beep and automatically shut off to prevent overflow. It will resume operation once the tank is emptied and correctly reinserted.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your dehumidifier. The unit features a washable filter that should be cleaned periodically to prevent dust and debris buildup.

Cleaning the Filter:

  1. Locate the filter cover on the back of the unit.
  2. Gently pop off the filter cover.
  3. Remove the filter mesh.
  4. Rinse the filter under running water. Avoid using high-pressure spray to prevent damage to the mesh.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.
  6. Snap the filter cover back into place.
