1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Tadeto TE026 Portable Carbon Monoxide Detector. This device is designed to accurately detect carbon monoxide (CO) concentrations in the air and alert users to potentially dangerous levels through audible and visual alarms. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper operation and safety.
2. Important Safety Information
- Carbon Monoxide (CO) Warning: Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that can be fatal. This detector is designed to assist in detecting the presence of CO gas. It is not a substitute for proper maintenance of fuel-burning appliances or ventilation systems.
- Placement: Position the detector in areas where CO may be present, such as near fuel-burning appliances, but avoid direct exposure to exhaust fumes or high humidity.
- Alarm Response: If the alarm sounds, immediately move to fresh air, call emergency services, and do not re-enter the area until it has been deemed safe by professionals.
- Battery Safety: Use only specified AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
- Operating Environment: Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or excessive moisture.

8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | Batteries are dead or incorrectly installed. | Check battery polarity and replace with fresh AAA batteries. |
| No CO reading (0 PPM) in suspected CO presence. | Device still in warm-up phase; CO levels are below detection threshold; sensor malfunction. | Wait 30 seconds after power-on. Ensure CO source is active. If issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Alarm sounds frequently without apparent CO source. | High background CO levels; detector sensitivity. | Ventilate the area. Ensure no hidden CO sources. Consider adjusting alarm thresholds if appropriate for your environment (refer to Section 6.3). |
| Display is dim or unreadable. | Backlight is off; low battery. | Press the Backlight Button (💡). Replace batteries if the battery indicator is low. |
