3. Battery Information
Your watch is powered by one product-specific battery, which is included and pre-installed. When the battery needs replacement, it is recommended to have it replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure water resistance is maintained.
Operating the Tide-Temp-Compass Function
The central bidirectional hand is a multi-functional indicator for tide, temperature, and compass readings.
1. Compass Mode
- To activate the compass, press the upper pusher (B). The central hand will point North.
- Hold the watch horizontally and rotate your body until the central hand aligns with the 'N' on the dial.
- The other cardinal points (E, S, W) will then indicate their respective directions.
- To exit compass mode, press the upper pusher (B) again, or it will automatically return to time display after a short period.
- Calibration: For accurate readings, calibrate the compass periodically, especially after significant travel or exposure to strong magnetic fields. Refer to the full manual for detailed calibration steps.
2. Temperature Mode
- To activate the thermometer, press the lower pusher (C). The central hand will indicate the temperature on the outer scale.
- Ensure the watch is off your wrist for at least 5-10 minutes for an accurate air temperature reading, as body heat can affect the sensor.
- To exit temperature mode, press the lower pusher (C) again, or it will automatically return to time display.
3. Tide Mode
- To activate the tide tracker, press and hold the lower pusher (C) for a few seconds. The central hand will indicate the tide level.
- This function requires initial setup based on local tide charts. Consult local tide information to set the hand to the current tide level (high, low, or in-between).
- Once set, the watch will track the approximate tide cycle.
- To exit tide mode, press and hold the lower pusher (C) again, or it will automatically return to time display.
4. INDIGLO Night-Light
Press the crown (A) firmly to activate the INDIGLO night-light, illuminating the entire dial for easy reading in the dark. The light will remain on as long as the crown is pressed.
Maintenance
1. Water Resistance
- Your watch is water resistant to 100 meters. This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling.
- Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged. This can compromise the water seal.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes (e.g., hot showers followed by cold water), as this can affect the seals.
- After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.

2. Cleaning Your Watch
- Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, damp cloth.
- For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture. If it gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
3. Battery Replacement
When the watch stops or the INDIGLO light dims significantly, the battery may need replacement. It is highly recommended to take your watch to an authorized Timex service center or a reputable watch repair shop for battery replacement to ensure proper sealing and function.
Troubleshooting
- Watch not running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
- Incorrect time/date: Follow the "Setting the Time" and "Setting the Date" instructions in the Setup section.
- Compass not accurate: The compass may need recalibration. Strong magnetic fields (e.g., from electronics, speakers) can affect accuracy. Move away from such sources and attempt recalibration.
- Water inside the watch: If condensation or water appears inside the watch, immediately take it to a service center. This indicates a compromised water seal.
