Maintenance and Care

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your replacement parts and ensure optimal grilling performance.

Cleaning Grill Grates

  • After each use, clean the cast iron grates with a grill brush while they are still warm.
  • For deeper cleaning, remove the grates and wash with warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
  • Season cast iron grates periodically with cooking oil to maintain their non-stick properties and prevent rust.

Cleaning Heat Tents and Burner Tubes

  • Periodically inspect heat tents and burner tubes for grease buildup or blockages.
  • Remove heat tents and clean with a scraper or stiff brush. The porcelain steel material offers strong corrosion and heat resistance, making them easy to clean.
  • Clean burner ports with a wire brush or a stiff wire to ensure even flame distribution.

  • Regularly empty and clean the catch pan.
  • Remove the drip pan and wash with warm soapy water. Its design helps prevent leaks and simplifies cleaning.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter issues after installing your replacement parts, consider the following:

  • Uneven Heating: Check burner tubes for blockages or misalignments. Ensure all burner ports are clear.
  • Low Flame: Verify gas supply and connections. Ensure burner tubes are fully seated over the gas valve orifices.
  • Grease Leaks: Ensure the adjustable drip pan is correctly assembled and adjusted to the proper length. Confirm the catch pan is positioned correctly.
  • Rust on Grates: Ensure cast iron grates are thoroughly dried after cleaning and seasoned periodically with cooking oil.
