6. Compatible Cookware

Induction cooktops require specific types of cookware. For optimal performance and safety, use only pots and pans that are compatible with induction heating.

  • Compatible Materials: Cookware made from cast iron, enameled iron, or magnetic stainless steel.
  • Compatibility Test: To check if your cookware is compatible, hold a magnet to the bottom of the pot or pan. If the magnet sticks firmly, the cookware is suitable for induction.
  • Unsuitable Materials: Cookware made from aluminum, copper, glass, ceramic, or non-magnetic stainless steel will not work on an induction cooktop.
  • Flat Bottom: Ensure cookware has a flat bottom for maximum contact with the induction zone and efficient heating.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your induction grill.

  • Always Disconnect Power: Before cleaning, ensure the grill is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet.
  • Allow to Cool: Wait until the glass ceramic surface has completely cooled down before cleaning. Remember the surface remains hot after use.
  • Cleaning the Surface: Wipe the glass ceramic surface with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive ceramic cooktop cleaner. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals.
  • Control Panel: Gently wipe the control panel with a soft, damp cloth. Do not allow water to seep into the controls.
  • Exterior: Clean the exterior housing with a damp cloth.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the grill in a clean, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your AVERA Electric Induction Grill, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Grill Does Not Turn On:
    • Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Ensure the power outlet is supplying electricity (test with another appliance).
    • Verify that the main power button on the grill has been pressed.
  • Cookware Not Heating:
    • Confirm that your cookware is induction-compatible (perform the magnet test).
    • Ensure the cookware is centered on the cooking zone.
    • The diameter of the cookware should be appropriate for the cooking zone.
  • Unusual Noise During Operation (Fan Noise):
    • Induction cooktops use internal cooling fans, which may produce a noticeable sound during operation, especially at higher power settings. This is normal.
    • If the noise is excessively loud or unusual, ensure the ventilation openings are not blocked.
  • Strange Noise When Both Burners at Maximum Power:
    • Some induction units may produce a distinct sound when both zones are operating at their highest power settings simultaneously. This can be due to the power management system.
    • If this noise is concerning, try reducing the power level on one or both burners slightly.
  • Error Codes Displayed:
    • If an error code appears on the display, consult the specific error code section in the full manual (if available) or contact customer support. Common causes include incompatible cookware or overheating.
