Installation Guide

The Jansite Backup Camera System is designed for plug-and-play installation with minimal wiring. Follow these steps for a successful setup.

1. Camera Installation

The camera is designed to be mounted using the license plate bracket for a secure and discreet installation.

  1. Remove your vehicle's rear license plate.
  2. Attach the camera to the license plate bracket. Ensure the camera lens is facing outwards and downwards slightly.
  3. Re-attach the license plate with the camera bracket to your vehicle.
  4. Route the camera cable into the vehicle's interior. This may require finding an existing grommet or carefully drilling a small hole (ensure no vital components are behind the drilling area). Seal any drilled holes to prevent water entry.

  2. Clean the mounting surface thoroughly.
  3. Attach the suction cup bracket to the monitor.
  4. Press the suction cup firmly against the chosen surface and engage the locking mechanism to secure it.
  5. Adjust the monitor angle for optimal viewing. Both brackets allow for 360° rotation and adjustment.

3. Power Supply Connection

You have two options for powering the system:

Option A: Cigarette Lighter Power Supply (Continuous View)

  1. Connect the car charger line to the monitor's power input.
  2. Plug the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
  3. Connect the camera cable to the extension cable, and then connect the extension cable to the monitor.

This method provides a continuous rear view while the vehicle is on.

Option B: Reverse Light Power Supply (Reversing Only)

  1. Locate your vehicle's reverse light wiring.
  2. Connect the red wire of the power cable to the positive (+) wire of your reverse light.
  3. Connect the black wire of the power cable to a ground (GND) point on your vehicle's chassis.
  4. Connect the power cable to the monitor's power input.
  5. Connect the camera cable to the extension cable, and then connect the extension cable to the monitor.

With this method, the monitor will only activate and display the rear view when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.
