The Orient Bambino Version 4 features a 42mm stainless steel case, a domed mineral crystal, and is powered by the in-house Orient F6724 automatic movement. This movement supports both automatic (self-winding) and hand-winding, along with a hacking function for precise time setting. The watch is fitted with a suede leather strap and offers water resistance up to 30 meters.

Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the watch from its packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage or defects. Ensure all included components, such as the watch box, warranty booklet, and instruction booklet, are present.

2. Winding the Watch

Your Orient Bambino is an automatic watch, meaning it winds itself through the motion of your wrist. However, for initial setup or if the watch has stopped due to lack of wear, it can be hand-wound.

  • To hand-wind, ensure the crown is in position 0 (fully pushed in).
  • Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide enough power reserve to start the watch.
  • The watch will then continue to wind itself as you wear it.

3. Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull the crown to position 2 (outermost position). The second hand will stop (hacking feature), allowing for precise time setting.
  2. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To avoid damaging the movement, always set the time in a clockwise direction.
  3. Push the crown back to position 1 (middle position).
  4. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the date change mechanism is engaged and could be damaged.
  5. Once the date is set, push the crown back to position 0 (fully pushed in) to secure the watch and ensure water resistance.

4. Adjusting the Strap

The suede leather strap is designed for comfort. Adjust the buckle to achieve a snug fit on your wrist without being too tight. A properly fitted watch will allow the automatic movement to function efficiently.

Operating the Watch

Automatic Movement (F6724)

Your watch is equipped with the Orient F6724 automatic movement. This movement features:

  • Self-Winding: The rotor inside the watch winds the mainspring with the natural motion of your arm.
  • Hand-Winding: You can manually wind the watch by rotating the crown in position 0.
  • Hacking Function: The second hand stops when the crown is pulled out to position 2, allowing for precise synchronization of time.
  • Date Display: The date window displays the current date.

When fully wound, the watch has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop. Simply hand-wind it or wear it for a few hours to restart.

Maintenance

Water Resistance (30 Meters)

The watch is water resistant up to 30 meters (3 ATM). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water, such as washing hands or light rain. It is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

Crystal Care

The watch features a domed mineral crystal. While durable, mineral crystal can scratch. Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces. Clean the crystal with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Strap Care

The suede leather strap should be kept dry. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures, which can cause the leather to dry out, crack, or fade. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.

General Cleaning

Wipe the watch case and back with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dirt, sweat, and oils. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used on the stainless steel case, followed by immediate drying.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not running: If the watch has stopped, hand-wind it approximately 30-40 times by rotating the crown in position 0. If it still does not start, gently shake the watch side-to-side for a few seconds.
  • Inaccurate time: Automatic watches can gain or lose a few seconds per day. If the inaccuracy is significant (e.g., several minutes per day), ensure the watch is fully wound. If the issue persists, professional servicing may be required.
  • Date not changing: Ensure the time is not set between 9 PM and 3 AM when adjusting the date. If the date mechanism is stuck, try advancing the time past 3 AM and then setting the date.
