3.4 Threading the Machine
Proper threading is crucial for smooth operation. Refer to the numbered diagram (Figure 2.3) for thread path guidance.
- Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
- Guide the thread through the upper thread guide (6).
- Follow the numbered path down through the tension discs and up to the take-up lever.
- Thread the needle from front to back. Use the needle threader if needed.
3.5 Winding and Inserting the Bobbin
The machine uses a reliable drop-in bobbin system.
- To wind a bobbin, place an empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle.
- Guide the thread from the spool pin around the bobbin winding tension disc and then onto the bobbin.
- Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right and start the machine. Stop when the bobbin is full.
- To insert the bobbin, open the bobbin cover plate. Place the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction.
- Pull the bobbin thread through the tension slot and replace the cover plate.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Turning On/Off and Speed Control
Use the On/Off & Speed switch (9 in Figure 2.3) to power on the machine and select your desired sewing speed (L for Low, H for High). The machine can also be operated using the foot pedal for variable speed control.
4.2 Stitch Selection
Rotate the Program Selection dial (4 in Figure 2.3) to choose one of the 12 available stitch patterns. Ensure the needle is in its highest position before changing stitch patterns.
4.3 Forward and Reverse Sewing
Press and hold the Reverse Button (5 in Figure 2.3) to sew in reverse. This is useful for securing stitches at the beginning and end of seams to prevent unraveling.
4.4 Buttonhole Function
The machine features a 2-level buttonhole system. Refer to the stitch selection dial for the specific buttonhole stitch. Detailed instructions for creating buttonholes are typically found in the full product manual, but generally involve marking the buttonhole length and sewing in stages.
4.5 Upper Thread Tension Adjustment
The Upper Thread Tension dial (8 in Figure 2.3) allows you to adjust the tension of the upper thread. Proper tension ensures balanced stitches. Adjust as needed for different fabrics and threads.
4.6 Using the LED Work Light
The anti-glare LED work light (2 in Figure 2.3) automatically illuminates the sewing area when the machine is powered on, providing clear visibility for your projects.
