6. Maintenance and Cleaning
6.1 Defrosting (Low Frost)
While the Low Frost system significantly reduces ice build-up, periodic manual defrosting will still be necessary. Defrost when the ice layer reaches approximately 5-10 mm thickness.
- Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
- Remove all food items and store them in a cool place or another freezer.
- Open the drainage plug located at the bottom of the freezer and place a tray or towel to collect the melting water.
- Leave the lid open to accelerate the defrosting process. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to remove ice.
- Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
- Close the drainage plug, plug in the freezer, and allow it to cool down before returning food.
6.2 Cleaning the Interior and Exterior
- Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Clean the interior with a soft cloth and a mild detergent solution. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Regularly clean the condenser coils at the back of the appliance (if accessible) to maintain efficiency.
7. Troubleshooting
Before contacting service, please check the following common issues:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Freezer does not operate. | No power supply; plug not inserted correctly; fuse blown. | Check power connection; check household fuse/circuit breaker. |
| Temperature is not cold enough. | Lid not closed properly; frequent lid opening; large amount of warm food added; ambient temperature too high; temperature setting too high. | Ensure lid is sealed; avoid frequent opening; allow food to cool before freezing; ensure proper ventilation; adjust temperature setting lower. |
| Excessive ice build-up. | Lid not sealed properly; high humidity. | Check lid seal; defrost the appliance. |
| Alarm indicator active. | Power failure; lid left open; internal temperature too high. | Check power; ensure lid is closed; allow time for temperature to stabilize. |
