2. Safety Information

4. Setup & Installation

The HALO RL canless design simplifies installation, requiring no recessed housings or J-boxes. It is suitable for new construction, remodel, and retrofit projects.

4.1. Preparing for Installation

1. Turn off power at the circuit breaker before installation.
2. Determine the desired location for the light fixture. Ensure there is sufficient clearance above the ceiling for the remote driver/junction box.
3. Cut a circular hole in the ceiling according to the recommended size (typically 5.75 inches for a 6-inch fixture).

4.2. Wiring the Remote Driver/Junction Box

4. Open the remote driver/junction box cover.
5. Connect the building supply wires to the junction box using appropriate connectors (e.g., push-in connectors). Ensure proper polarity (black to black, white to white, ground to ground).
6. Before closing the junction box, select the desired color temperature (CCT) and lumen output using the switches located on the side of the box.

4.3. Mounting the Light Fixture

7. Connect the light fixture to the remote driver/junction box via the quick-connect cable.
8. Push the remote driver/junction box through the ceiling cutout and place it above the ceiling.
9. Squeeze the spring clips on the light fixture together and insert the fixture into the ceiling cutout. The clips will expand and secure the fixture against the ceiling.
10. Ensure the fixture is flush with the ceiling surface.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Color Temperature Selection

The color temperature (CCT) can be selected using a switch on the remote driver/junction box. Options include 2700K (soft white), 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K (daylight). Make your selection before final installation of the junction box into the ceiling.

5.2. Lumen Output Selection

The lumen output can be adjusted between 900 lumens and 1200 lumens using a switch on the remote driver/junction box. This allows customization of brightness based on room size and ceiling height. Make your selection before final installation of the junction box into the ceiling.

5.3. Dim-to-Warm Feature

When the 'Dim-to-Warm' (D2W) setting is selected on the junction box, the light will transition from 3000K to a cozy 1800K candlelight ambiance as it dims. This feature requires a compatible dimmer switch (sold separately) for operation.

6. Maintenance

The HALO RL LED Recessed Light is designed for long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance.

• Cleaning: Ensure power is off before cleaning. Wipe the fixture with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Bulb Replacement: The LED light source is integrated and not user-replaceable.
