Setup & Installation
1. Choose Mounting Option: Wall or Pole
The MI-1765 offers versatile mounting options for either a wall or an existing pole. Select the method that best suits your workspace.

Figure 1: Wall and Pole Mounting Options. The image displays two mounting methods: an adjustable pole mount base (fits poles 1.1" - 2.36" diameter) with +/-135° rotation, and a fixed wall mount base with +/-90° and +/-180° rotation options.
2. Wall Mounting Installation
2.1 Wood Stud Mounting
- Using a stud finder, locate the center of a wood stud at your desired mounting height.
- Hold the wall mount plate against the stud, ensuring it is centered. Use a bubble level to confirm straightness.
- Mark the center of the mounting holes with a pencil.
- Using a 3/16" (4.5mm) drill bit, drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
- Secure the wall mount plate to the wall using the provided lag screws and washers. Tighten until secure.
- Insert the decorative covers into each of the bolt holes.

2.2 Concrete / Brick Mounting
- Hold the wall mount plate at the desired location on the concrete or brick wall. Use a bubble level to ensure straightness.
- Mark the center of the mounting holes with a pencil.
- Using a 3/8" (10mm) drill bit, drill holes at the marked locations to a depth of 2.4" (60mm).
- Clear any dust and debris from the drilled holes.
- Insert the provided concrete anchors into the holes.
- Secure the wall mount plate to the wall using the provided lag screws and washers. Tighten until secure.
- Insert the decorative covers into each of the bolt holes.
3. Pole Mounting Installation
This option is for mounting the arm to an existing pole with a diameter between 1.1" and 2.4".
- Using the provided hex wrench, loosen the two bolts on the pole clamp until the clamp opens wide enough to slide onto your pole.
- For thicker poles (1.8" - 2.4" diameter), remove the pre-installed bolts and replace them with the alternative longer bolts provided. Adjust the width of the clamp to be slightly larger than the pole.
- Slide the pole clamp onto the pole at the desired height.
- Tighten the bolts on the pole clamp until secure.
4. Attaching the Spring Arm to the Mount
- CAUTION: The spring arm is under tension. It is recommended to have a second person assist with this step. Carefully cut the zip tie securing the spring arm.
- Place the end of the spring arm onto the end of the wall mount or pole mount.
- Tighten the bolt on the back of the spring arm to secure it to the base.
5. Attaching the Monitor
- Using the appropriate size bolts and washers for your monitor's VESA pattern (75x75mm or 100x100mm), install the top two bolts into the monitor's VESA holes. Leave a gap of approximately 0.1 inches (2.5mm) between the bolt head and the monitor surface.
- Carefully hang the monitor onto the top of the VESA plate on the spring arm, aligning the top two bolts with the slots.
- Install the lower two bolts and washers through the lower holes of the VESA plate into the monitor.
- Tighten all four bolts until secure, ensuring not to overtighten.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your monitor mount.
- Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight and secure.
- Clean the mount with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Do not lubricate any moving parts unless specifically instructed by Mount-It! support.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor sags or does not hold position. | Spring arm tension is too low for monitor weight. | The MI-1765 uses a robust mechanical spring, which is not user-adjustable for tension. Ensure your monitor's weight is within the 15.4 lb capacity. If the monitor is too light, it may not stay down. If too heavy, it will sag. |
| Monitor cannot be tilted or is too loose. | Tilt screw is too tight or too loose. | Loosen the tilt screw behind the VESA plate to adjust, then tighten to secure. |
| Mount feels unstable. | Mounting screws are loose or incorrect installation. | Re-check all mounting screws (wall/pole and arm connections) and tighten them securely. Ensure proper installation method was followed for your wall type. |
| Cables are messy. | Cables not routed through management clips. | Utilize the integrated cable management clips on the underside of the arm to organize cables. |
