4. Setup & Installation

The FIREGAS range hood offers flexible installation as either a ducted or ductless system. Refer to the included installation instruction and manual for detailed steps. An installation video is also available for guidance.

4.1. Package Contents:

Before beginning installation, ensure all parts are present:

  • Aluminum Filter (multi-layer)
  • Recirculation Sheet (for ductless setup)

Note: Charcoal filters for ductless operation (Model: FGS-TF39-LW, ASIN: B0CH335CR8) and a power plug (Model: FGS-TF39-DYX, ASIN: B0CH3454G7) are sold separately if needed. The unit is hard-wired by default.

4.2. Venting Options:

The range hood supports two primary venting configurations:

  1. Ducted (Extraction Mode): Air is exhausted outside through a duct system. This mode requires a connection to an external vent.
  2. Ductless (Recirculation Mode): Air is filtered through charcoal filters (sold separately) and recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external venting is not possible.

4.3. Electrical Connection:

The unit is designed for hard-wired installation. If a plug-in option is desired, a compatible power plug (sold separately) must be installed by a qualified electrician.

5. Operation

The range hood features simple rocker button controls for fan speed and lighting.

5.1. Fan Control:

The 2-speed exhaust fan can be adjusted to suit your cooking needs. Use the rocker switch to select between low and high speed settings.

  • Low Speed: Ideal for light cooking, simmering, or maintaining air quality.
  • High Speed: Recommended for heavy cooking, frying, or when strong odor and smoke removal is required.

5.2. Lighting Control:

The integrated 2W LED light provides illumination for your cooking surface. Use the dedicated rocker switch to turn the light ON or OFF.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.

6.1. Cleaning the Aluminum Filters:

The multi-layer aluminum filters should be cleaned regularly to prevent grease buildup, which can reduce efficiency and pose a fire hazard. Filters can be easily removed and washed with warm, soapy water or placed in a dishwasher.

6.2. Replacing Charcoal Filters (Ductless Mode Only):

If operating in ductless (recirculation) mode, charcoal filters (sold separately) must be replaced periodically, typically every 3-6 months depending on usage. Refer to the charcoal filter's specific instructions for replacement.

6.3. General Cleaning:

Wipe the exterior of the range hood with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the finish.
