Setup

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the padlock. A low battery is indicated by a red light. Connect the padlock to a USB power source using the provided USB charging cable.

2. App Installation and Pairing

  1. Download the eSmartLock app from your device's app store (available for iOS and Android).
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  3. Open the eSmartLock app and create an account if you don't have one.
  4. Wake up the padlock by touching the fingerprint sensor. The LED will illuminate.
  5. In the app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device. The app will search for nearby eLinkSmart padlocks.
  6. Select your padlock from the list to pair it. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

3. Fingerprint Registration (Admin)

The first two fingerprints registered will be designated as administrator fingerprints. Only administrators can add or delete other user fingerprints.

  1. After pairing, access the 'Fingerprint Management' section in the eSmartLock app.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your fingerprint. You will need to place your finger on the sensor multiple times from different angles to ensure accurate recognition.
  3. Repeat this process for a second administrator fingerprint.

4. Adding User Fingerprints

Once administrator fingerprints are set, administrators can add up to 18 additional user fingerprints.

  1. An administrator must unlock the padlock using their registered fingerprint or the app.
  2. In the eSmartLock app, navigate to 'Fingerprint Management'.
  3. Select the option to add a new fingerprint and follow the instructions for the new user to register their finger.

Operation

1. Unlocking with Fingerprint

  1. Place a registered finger firmly on the fingerprint sensor.
  2. The LED indicator will flash blue, and the padlock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized.

2. Unlocking via App

  1. Ensure your smartphone's Bluetooth is on and the padlock is within range.
  2. Open the eSmartLock app and select your padlock from the device list.
  3. Tap the 'Unlock' button in the app. The padlock will connect and unlock.

3. Sharing Access (Digital Combination)

The eSmartLock app allows you to set a digital combination as a backup or to grant temporary access to others without registering their fingerprint.

  1. In the eSmartLock app, navigate to the 'Authorization Management' section.
  2. You can generate a temporary digital combination or set a permanent one.
  3. Share this combination with authorized users. They can enter the combination via the app to unlock the padlock.

Maintenance

1. Battery Care

  • Recharge the padlock when the low battery alert (red light) appears.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery to prolong its lifespan.
  • Use the provided USB cable for charging.

2. Cleaning

  • Wipe the padlock body and fingerprint sensor with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

Troubleshooting

  • Padlock not unlocking with fingerprint: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try different angles. If multiple attempts fail, try unlocking via the app or with a different registered fingerprint.
  • Padlock not connecting to app: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the padlock is awake (touch the sensor). Restart the app or your phone if necessary.
  • Low battery: The padlock will indicate a low battery with a red light. Connect it to a USB power source for charging.
  • Cannot register new fingerprint: Ensure an administrator fingerprint is used to authorize new registrations.

Safety Information

  • This padlock is designed for indoor use and light outdoor use. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, snow, direct sunlight).
