3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the meter.
- Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
- Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
3.2 Initial Power On and Calibration
Upon first power-on or after battery replacement, the KC602 performs an automatic calibration. This process ensures measurement accuracy.

Figure 3.1: The meter displays "CAL" during automatic calibration upon power-on, followed by entering Smart Mode.
The meter will automatically enter Smart Mode, which intelligently recognizes measurement signals.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Smart Measurement Mode
In Smart Mode, the KC602 automatically identifies and measures AC/DC Voltage, Resistance, and Continuity. Simply connect the test leads to the circuit, and the meter will display the relevant measurement.

4.2 Specific Measurement Functions
To access specific measurement functions beyond Smart Mode, press the FUNC button to cycle through the available modes.

Figure 4.2: The KC602 offers a wide range of functions to meet diverse measurement needs.
AC/DC Current Measurement
To measure AC/DC current, select the current mode. Open the clamp jaws and enclose a single conductor. The display will show the current reading.

Figure 4.3: Top image shows AC/DC Voltage measurement using test leads. Bottom image shows AC/DC Current measurement using the clamp jaws around a single conductor.
AC/DC Voltage Measurement
Connect the red test lead to the VΩHz input jack and the black test lead to the COM input jack. Select the voltage mode and connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit or component to be measured.
Inrush Current Measurement
The inrush current function measures the initial surge of current when a device is powered on. This is useful for diagnosing motor or circuit startup issues. The measurement time is approximately 100ms.

Figure 4.4: The KC602 measuring inrush current, with a measurement range of 5 to 600 A.
Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Test
The NCV function allows for voltage detection without direct contact. Hold the NCV sensor near the conductor. The meter will indicate the presence of AC voltage with an audible beep and visual indicator.

Figure 4.5: The KC602's NCV function indicating low voltage (left) and high voltage (right) without physical contact.
Continuity, Diode, and Capacitance Tests
These functions are essential for checking circuit integrity, diode functionality, and capacitor values.

Figure 4.6: Demonstrations of Continuity Test (left), Diode Test (center), and Capacitance Test (right) using the KC602.
Temperature Measurement
Use the included K-type thermocouple to measure temperature. Insert the thermocouple into the appropriate input jacks and place the probe on the surface or in the environment to be measured.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To clean the meter, wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Ensure the meter is powered off and disconnected from any circuits before cleaning.
5.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery power indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate measurements. Refer to Section 3.1 for battery installation instructions.
5.3 Storage
If the meter is not used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the meter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
5.4 Automatic Shutdown
The KC602 features an automatic shutdown function to conserve battery life. If no operation is performed within 15 minutes, the meter will automatically power off.

Figure 5.1: The meter's automatic shutdown feature activates after 15 minutes of inactivity, indicated by a countdown.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Meter does not power on. | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Replace batteries, ensuring correct polarity. |
