5. Setup and Installation
The BRANO range hood is designed for wall-mount installation and offers convertible ventilation, supporting both ducted and ductless configurations. For detailed step-by-step installation instructions, please refer to the dedicated installation section in the printed user manual included with your product. It is highly recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional.
5.1 Ducted vs. Ductless Installation
Your range hood can be set up for external venting (ducted) or internal recirculation (ductless). The default setup is for top-ducted ventilation with a 6-inch round exhaust vent. For ductless installation, ensure the charcoal filter is properly installed to filter air before recirculating it into the kitchen.

6. Operating Instructions
Your BRANO range hood features advanced control options for ease of use.
6.1 Powerful Suction
The range hood is equipped with a 4-speed exhaust fan, providing up to 900 CFM of suction power to effectively remove smoke and odors. Adjust the fan speed based on your cooking needs.

Figure 6.1: Visual representation of the range hood's powerful 900 CFM suction effectively clearing cooking fumes.
6.2 Voice Control
Activate voice control by saying "Andy". You can then issue commands such as "Power on", "Power off", "Speed up", "Speed down", "Light on", "Light off", and "Delay shutdown [X] minutes".

Figure 6.2: User interacting with the range hood using voice commands, demonstrating the "Hi Andy" activation phrase.
6.3 Gesture Control
The range hood can be controlled with simple hand gestures. Wave your hand right to increase fan speed and wave left to decrease fan speed. Ensure your hand is within 3-4 inches of the sensor for optimal detection.

Figure 6.3: Illustration of gesture control, showing hand movements to adjust fan speed.
6.4 Touch Control
The integrated display panel allows for direct touch control of all functions, including power, fan speed adjustment, light control, and setting the delay shutdown timer.
6.5 Adjustable LED Lighting
The range hood is equipped with 4 adjustable brightness LED lights to illuminate your cooking surface. These lights are energy-efficient and can be adjusted from 10% to 100% brightness to suit your needs.

Figure 6.4: The range hood's LED lights illuminating the stovetop, with an indicator showing adjustable brightness levels.
6.6 Memory Mode and Delayed Shutdown
The memory mode feature remembers your last fan speed setting. The delayed shutdown function allows the hood to continue operating for a set period (e.g., 180 seconds) after cooking to ensure all residual fumes and odors are removed, then automatically turns off.

Figure 6.5: Visualizing the delay shutdown feature, showing the hood continuing to clear steam after cooking.
6.7 Low Noise Operation
Despite its powerful suction, the range hood operates at a low noise level, not exceeding 65 dB at its highest speed, ensuring a comfortable kitchen environment.

Figure 6.6: Comparison of the range hood's noise level (62dB at high speed) to common household sounds.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your range hood.
7.1 Cleaning Baffle Filters
The stainless steel baffle filters are designed to capture grease and are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. It is recommended to clean them regularly, depending on your cooking frequency, to maintain optimal airflow and prevent grease buildup.

Figure 7.1: Dishwasher-safe baffle filters, illustrating their ease of cleaning.
7.2 Replacing Charcoal Filters (Ductless Only)
If you are using the range hood in a ductless configuration, the activated charcoal filter needs to be replaced periodically. The frequency depends on usage, but generally every 3-6 months is recommended. Refer to the manual for specific replacement instructions.
7.3 Exterior Cleaning
Clean the exterior stainless steel surfaces with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could scratch the finish.
