4. Setup and Installation
This LED tube is designed for easy replacement of existing T9 fluorescent lamps in fixtures with electromagnetic ballasts (KVG/VVG). It requires the use of the included LED starter.
Installation Steps:
- Power Off: Ensure the power supply to the fixture is completely switched off at the main circuit breaker before beginning installation.
- Remove Old Lamp: Carefully remove the existing T9 fluorescent lamp from the fixture.
- Replace Starter: Locate the starter for the fluorescent lamp. Remove the old starter and replace it with the LED starter provided with your OSRAM LED TUBE T9C EM 22. This LED starter acts as a short-circuiting device for the ballast.
- Install LED Tube: Insert the OSRAM LED TUBE T9C EM 22 into the lamp holders of the fixture, ensuring it is securely seated. The 4-pin connector is slightly rotatable to align the non-emissive side away from the desired light direction.
- Power On: Restore power to the fixture. The LED tube should illuminate instantly without flickering.
Important Note: This LED tube is not designed for direct connection to mains voltage without the specific LED starter. The included starter is crucial for proper and safe operation in existing KVG/VVG fixtures. An adhesive label is provided to mark the fixture, indicating that the wiring has been modified for LED use and is no longer suitable for traditional fluorescent lamps.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the OSRAM LED TUBE T9C EM 22 operates like a standard light source. Simply switch on the power to the fixture, and the LED tube will provide instant, flicker-free illumination. There are no special operating procedures required beyond standard light switch control.
The lamp is suitable for general lighting in various applications, including household use, corridors, stairs, car parks, garages, and workshops. It can also be used for decorative purposes.
6. Maintenance
The OSRAM LED TUBE T9C EM 22 is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. Its lifespan is rated for up to 30,000 hours.
Cleaning:
To clean the lamp, ensure the power is off and the lamp has cooled down. Use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the lamp's surface.
