3. Setup
Before first use, ensure all components are clean and dry. The grinder comes pre-assembled, but you may need to adjust the grind setting.
3.1. Adjusting Grind Coarseness
The C3S Pro offers approximately 36 levels of grind adjustment. To change the coarseness:
- Remove the grounds container by unscrewing it from the main body.
- Locate the grind adjustment dial at the bottom of the burr assembly.
- Rotate the dial clockwise for finer powder and anti-clockwise for coarser powder. Each 'click' represents a specific grind level.
- Refer to the recommended settings below for common brewing methods:
- Espresso: Approximately 7-10 clicks from the tightest setting.
- Pour Over: Approximately 13-16 clicks from the tightest setting.
- French Press: Up to 13 clicks from the tightest setting.
- Once adjusted, reattach the grounds container securely.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your grinder.
- Disassembly: Unscrew the grounds container and remove the top cap and handle. The internal burr assembly can be carefully disassembled for deeper cleaning if necessary.
- Cleaning: Use the included brush to clean any residual coffee grounds from the burrs and internal components. An air blower can also be used for thorough cleaning.
- Important: Do NOT wash the grinder with water. Water can damage the burrs and internal mechanisms. Only dry cleaning methods should be used.
- Reassembly: Reassemble the grinder by attaching the burr assembly, then the top cap and handle, and finally the grounds container.

6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Grinder is difficult to turn or jammed. | Grind setting is too fine; foreign object in burrs; beans are too hard. | Adjust to a coarser setting. Disassemble and check for foreign objects. Use fresh, quality beans. |
| Inconsistent grind size. | Burrs are dirty; grind setting is too coarse for desired output. | Clean the burrs thoroughly. Adjust to a finer setting if needed. |
| Static cling of grounds. | Dry beans or environment. | Add a few drops of water to the beans before grinding (Ross Droplet Technique). |
| Handle feels loose. | Handle not fully engaged. | Ensure the foldable handle is fully extended and locked into place. |
