Setup

1. Initial Setup and Battery Installation

Before first use, or after a prolonged period of disuse, install or check the backup battery. The timer uses an LR1130 button cell battery to retain settings during power outages.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Insert one LR1130 button cell battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the compartment cover.

2. Resetting the Timer

Press the RESET button with a small pointed object (e.g., a pen tip) to clear all previous settings and ensure a fresh start. The display will show "0:00" and all indicators will be off.

3. Setting Current Time and Day

  1. Press the TIME button once. The hour digits will flash.
  2. Use the HOUR button to set the current hour.
  3. Use the MIN button to set the current minute.
  4. Press the WEEK button to select the current day of the week.
  5. Press the TIME button again to confirm and exit time setting mode.

Operating Instructions

1. Programming ON/OFF Cycles

The timer allows for up to 8 distinct ON/OFF programs. Each program can be set for specific days or combinations of days.

  1. Press the PROG button once. The display will show "1 ON" and the hour digits will flash.
  2. Use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired ON time for Program 1.
  3. Press the WEEK button repeatedly to cycle through the 11 available day combinations (e.g., MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU, MO-FR, SA-SU, MO-SA, MO-SU). Select your desired day(s).
  4. Press the PROG button again. The display will show "1 OFF" and the hour digits will flash.
  5. Use the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired OFF time for Program 1.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for any additional programs (up to 8).
  7. After setting all desired programs, press the TIME button to exit program setting mode.

2. Manual Override (ON/OFF AUTO)

The ON/OFF AUTO button allows you to manually control the timer's output.

  • Press once for ON: The timer will stay ON continuously, overriding all programs.
  • Press again for OFF: The timer will stay OFF continuously, overriding all programs.
  • Press a third time for AUTO: The timer will operate according to the programmed ON/OFF cycles. This is the standard operating mode for scheduled automation.

3. Vacation Mode (Random ON/OFF)

To activate vacation mode, which randomly turns devices ON and OFF to simulate occupancy:

  1. Ensure the timer is in AUTO mode.
  2. Press and hold the WEEK button for 3 seconds. The display will show "RND" or a similar indicator.
  3. To deactivate, press and hold the WEEK button for 3 seconds again.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Unplug the timer before cleaning. Wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Replacement: If the display goes blank or settings are lost frequently during power outages, replace the LR1130 backup battery.
  • Storage: Store the timer in a cool, dry place when not in use.
