4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your Dometic Seitz S6 window handle.
- Cleaning: Clean the handle periodically with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the plastic finish.
- Lubrication: If the locking mechanism feels stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts of the pivot and locking pin. Do not use oil-based lubricants, which can attract dirt.
- Inspection: Periodically check the mounting screws for tightness. If they are loose, gently retighten them. Inspect the foam rubber gasket for any signs of wear or damage; a damaged gasket may compromise the seal.
- Environmental Factors: Protect the handle from extreme temperatures and prolonged direct sunlight when not in use, if possible, to prevent material degradation.
