5. Operation

5.1 Automatic Recording

Once connected to power, the GKU D600 Dash Cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts. It will automatically power off when your vehicle is turned off.

5.2 Using the GKU GO App

The GKU GO app allows you to control and manage your dash cam wirelessly via 5GHz Wi-Fi. You can view live footage, play back recorded videos, download clips to your phone, and adjust various settings such as video resolution, loop recording duration, and G-sensor sensitivity.

5.3 Loop Recording

The dash cam continuously records in a loop. When the SD card reaches its capacity, the oldest unlocked video files are automatically overwritten to make space for new recordings. This ensures continuous operation without manual intervention.

5.4 G-Sensor and Emergency Locking

The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an event is detected, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to a protected folder on the SD card, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical evidence is preserved.

5.5 Night Vision and WDR

The GKU D600 is equipped with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology and an F1.8 aperture lens, along with a 6-glass lens, to enhance video clarity and detail capture in low-light conditions and at night.

6. Maintenance

6.1 SD Card Formatting

To ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption, it is recommended to format the microSD card regularly, ideally once a month. This can be done through the GKU GO app or directly on the dash cam if it has a menu option for formatting.

6.2 Cleaning the Lenses

Periodically clean the lenses of both the front and rear cameras with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could scratch the lens surface.

6.3 Temperature Considerations

The dash cam is designed to operate in temperatures from -20°C to 70°C (-4°F to 158°F). Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures outside this range for prolonged periods, as it may affect performance and longevity.
