1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Lenco CD-500 Portable CD Player. This device is a versatile portable music playback system, also known as a Diskman, offering a captivating world of entertainment. It features advanced Bluetooth 5.0 technology for wireless streaming, supports various audio formats including CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3, and includes a built-in DAB+/FM radio. 2. Safety Information

Controls and Ports:

5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Battery

The Lenco CD-500 is equipped with a powerful 1000mAh rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the device.

1. Connect the supplied Micro USB cable to the Micro USB port on the device.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
3. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator will show a full battery icon.

A full charge provides hours of music enjoyment.

5.2 Inserting a CD

1. Slide the 'OPEN' switch to open the CD compartment lid.
2. Carefully place a CD (standard audio CD, CD-R/RW, or MP3 CD) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
3. Gently press the CD down until it clicks into place.
4. Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it latches.

5.3 Connecting Headphones or External Devices

For private listening, connect the supplied earphones or your preferred 3.5mm headphones to the 'PHONES' jack on the side of the device.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the device, press and hold the Play/Pause button. To power off, press and hold the Play/Pause button again.

6.2 CD Playback

1. Ensure a CD is properly inserted (refer to Section 5.2).
2. Press the 'MODE' button until 'CD' mode is selected on the display.
3. The player will automatically begin reading the CD and start playback.
4. Press the Play/Pause button to pause or resume playback.
5. Use the Skip buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to skip to the previous or next track. Press and hold to fast forward or rewind within a track.
6. Adjust the volume using the rotary volume control.

6.3 Bluetooth Operation

The Lenco CD-500 features Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio streaming.

1. Press the 'MODE' button until 'Bluetooth' mode is selected. The display will show a Bluetooth icon, indicating it's in pairing mode.
2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
3. Select 'Lenco CD-500' from the list of found devices to pair.
4. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly from your device to the Lenco CD-500.
5. Use the controls on your connected device or the CD-500 to manage playback (play/pause, skip tracks).

6.4 DAB+/FM Radio Operation

The built-in DAB+/FM radio provides access to a variety of radio stations.

1. Press the 'MODE' button until 'DAB+' or 'FM' mode is selected.
2. Auto Scan: In DAB+ or FM mode, press the 'SCAN' button to automatically scan and store available stations. The device can store up to 20 stations in DAB+ and 20 in FM mode.
3. Manual Tuning: Use the 'TUNE +/-' buttons for fine-tuning frequencies in FM mode.
4. Preset Stations: Use the 'PRESET' button to cycle through saved stations. To save a station, tune to the desired frequency, press and hold 'PRESET', then use the Skip buttons to select a preset number and press 'ENTER' to confirm.

6.5 Anti-Shock Feature

The Lenco CD-500 incorporates an anti-shock feature to ensure uninterrupted listening, even during movement.

• For CD MP3 playback, the anti-shock buffer is 120 seconds.
• For standard CD playback, the anti-shock buffer is 60 seconds.

This feature helps prevent skips caused by shocks or vibrations.

6.6 CD Audiobook Function (Resume Function)

This function allows you to continue listening to audiobooks exactly where you left off.

• When playing an audiobook CD, the device will automatically remember the last playback position.
• Upon resuming playback of the same CD, it will start from the remembered position.

6.7 Repeat, Random Playback, and Track Programming

Customize your listening experience with these playback options:

• Repeat Function: During CD playback, press the 'INFO/MENU' button repeatedly to cycle through repeat modes (e.g., repeat one track, repeat all tracks).
• Random Playback: Press the 'INFO/MENU' button until 'Random' or 'Shuffle' mode is selected to play tracks in a random order.
• Track Programming: In stop mode (CD not playing), press the 'INFO/MENU' button to enter program mode. Use the Skip buttons to select desired tracks and 'ENTER' to add them to your playlist. You can create your own custom playback sequence.

6.8 BBS (Bass Boost System) Function

The BBS function enhances the bass performance for a richer sound experience.

• Press the 'BBS' button located on the side of the device to activate or deactivate the bass amplification system.

7. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your Lenco CD-500.

7.1 Cleaning

• Wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner disc or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Do not touch the lens directly.

7.2 Storage

• When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Remove any CD from the compartment before storing.
