1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your YHOCO Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detector. 2. Important Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Battery Installation

The YHOCO C203 Carbon Monoxide Detector requires two (2) 1.5V AA batteries (not included) for operation. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.

1. Remove the mounting plate from the back of the detector by twisting it counter-clockwise.
2. Insert two (2) 1.5V AA batteries into the battery compartment, matching the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals correctly.
3. Replace the mounting plate by aligning it and twisting clockwise until it locks securely.

4.2 Mounting the Detector

For optimal performance, install the detector on a wall or ceiling in areas where carbon monoxide may be present, such as near sleeping areas, living rooms, or kitchens. Avoid placing it directly above heat sources or in areas with high humidity.

1. Choose a suitable location, ensuring it is at least 1.5 meters (5 feet) away from fuel-burning appliances to avoid false alarms.
2. Use the provided screws to secure the mounting plate to the wall or ceiling.
3. Attach the detector to the secured mounting plate by aligning the detector with the plate and twisting clockwise until it clicks into place.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Digital Display and Indicators

The detector features an LED digital display and three indicator lights to provide status information:

• LED Digital Display: Shows carbon monoxide levels in parts per million (ppm) from 0-999ppm. A blue backlight activates when CO readings exceed 40ppm.
• 'Err' Message: Indicates a device fault. The yellow LED light will flash, and the alarm will sound continuously.
• 'Lb' Message: Low-battery indicator. Replace batteries promptly when this message appears.
• FAULT Indicator (Yellow LED): Illuminates for device errors.
• ALARM Indicator (Red LED): Flashes when dangerous CO levels are detected.
• POWER Indicator (Green LED): Flashes periodically to confirm the device is powered on and functioning correctly.

5.2 Alarm Function

When dangerous CO levels are detected, the red ALARM indicator will flash, and the buzzer will emit a loud 85dB sound alarm to alert occupants. The digital display will show the detected CO concentration.

5.3 Test/Hush Button

Press the 'TEST/HUSH' button to:

• Test the Alarm: Press and hold the button to initiate a self-test. The alarm will sound, and all indicators will flash, confirming proper operation.
• Silence the Alarm: In case of a non-emergency alarm (e.g., during testing), press the button to temporarily silence the alarm. The detector will continue to monitor CO levels.

The detector is designed to trigger an alarm based on specific CO concentration levels and exposure times:

• 70 PPM: Alarm within 60-90 minutes.
• 150 PPM: Alarm within 10-50 minutes.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Regular Testing

Test your CO detector weekly by pressing the 'TEST/HUSH' button. This verifies the alarm circuit and ensures the device is functioning correctly.

7.2 Battery Replacement

When the 'Lb' indicator appears on the display, replace the two (2) 1.5V AA batteries immediately. Refer to section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.

7.3 Cleaning
