Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure you have the necessary tools: screwdriver, wire strippers, electrical tape, and voltage tester.
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse that controls the power to the switch you are replacing or the location where you intend to install the new timer switch. Turn off the power completely and verify with a voltage tester that the power is off before proceeding.
- Remove Old Switch (if applicable): Carefully remove the existing wall plate and unscrew the old switch from the electrical box. Disconnect the wires from the old switch, noting which wire was connected to which terminal (Line, Load, Neutral, Ground).
- Identify Wires:
- Line Wire (Hot): Typically black, carries power from the circuit breaker.
- Load Wire: Typically black, carries power to the light fixture or appliance.
- Neutral Wire: Typically white, required for this timer switch.
- Ground Wire: Typically bare copper or green.

- Connect the Load wire from the wall box to the terminal labeled "L-O" or "Load" on the timer switch.
- Connect the Neutral wire from the wall box to the terminal labeled "N" on the timer switch. Use a wire nut if connecting multiple neutral wires.
- Connect the Ground wire from the wall box to the green ground screw on the timer switch.
Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Push any excess wire carefully back into the electrical box.
- Mount the Switch: Secure the timer switch into the electrical box using the provided mounting screws.
- Install Wall Plate: Attach the included single gang wall plate over the switch.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Operating Instructions
The Fosmon Countdown Light Timer Switch features a single illuminated button and a series of LED indicators for easy operation.

Figure 4: Illuminated button and LED indicators for timer settings.
- Activating the Timer: Press the large illuminated button at the bottom of the switch. Each press will cycle through the available countdown settings.
- Selecting a Time Setting: The switch offers 9 pre-set options: 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, and OFF. Continue pressing the button until the red LED indicator next to your desired time setting illuminates.
- Countdown Indication: Once a time setting is selected, the red LED for that setting will remain lit. As the countdown progresses, the illuminated LED will shift to the next lower time interval, providing a visual indication of the remaining time. For example, if set to 30 minutes, the 30-minute LED will be lit. When 15 minutes remain, the 15-minute LED will light up, and so on.
- Automatic Shut-off: The connected device will automatically turn off once the selected countdown period expires.
- Manual Override/Turn Off: To turn off the device before the countdown completes, repeatedly press the button until the "OFF" setting is reached, or press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds.
