Introduction
The BOSS RC-505 MkII Loop Station is a powerful tabletop looping device designed for performers, beatboxers, and musicians. Setup
Unboxing and Power Connection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the included Gearlux power supply is connected to the DC IN port on the rear panel of the RC-505 MkII and then to a power outlet. The device requires a stable power source for optimal performance.
Connecting Instruments and Microphones
The RC-505 MkII features versatile input options:
- Microphones: Connect up to two microphones using XLR cables to the MIC 1 and MIC 2 inputs. Phantom power is available for condenser microphones.
- Instruments/Line Devices: Connect instruments (guitars, keyboards) or other line-level devices to the INST 1 L/MONO and INST 2 R inputs using 1/4-inch TS/TRS cables.

Initial Power-On
After connecting power and inputs, press the POWER button to turn on the device. The display will illuminate, indicating the unit is ready for use.
Operating
Basic Looping Functions
The RC-505 MkII features five stereo phrase tracks, each with dedicated controls for intuitive operation.
- Record: Press the REC/PLAY button on a track to start recording.
- Play: Press REC/PLAY again to stop recording and begin playback of the loop.
- Overdub: During playback, press REC/PLAY to enter overdub mode and add new layers to your loop.
- Stop: Press the STOP button on a track to stop its playback.
- Undo/Redo: Use the UNDO/REDO button to reverse or reapply the last recording action on the currently selected track.

Faders and Track Controls
Each track has a dedicated fader for volume control and FX/TRACK buttons for quick access to effects and track settings. The faders offer longer throw for precise adjustments.

Input FX and Track FX
The RC-505 MkII offers 49 Input FX and 53 Track FX types. You can apply up to four effects in each section simultaneously. Groups of four Input FX and Track FX can be stored in four banks for quick recall.

Rhythm Guide and Tempo
Utilize the onboard rhythm guide for precise timing. You can select from various rhythm types and patterns, and adjust the tempo using the TAP TEMPO button or the menu settings.
Customization
MIDI Control
The RC-505 MkII supports MIDI input and output, allowing for advanced control from external MIDI devices. You can assign various parameters to MIDI messages for seamless integration into your setup.

External Control Jacks
