Model: G5/8-14 to 1/4NPT

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of the TUXING DIN Filling Station Scuba Diving Regulator HPA G5/8-14 to Female 1/4NPT Charging Adapter Connector. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure proper function and safety.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: High-pressure air systems can be dangerous. Improper use can result in serious injury or death. Always follow safety guidelines and consult with qualified professionals if unsure.

  • Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free before pressurizing the system.
  • Never exceed the maximum working pressure of any component in your system.
  • Always depressurize the system before disconnecting any components.
  • Keep hands and body clear of high-pressure air streams.
  • Use only with compatible equipment and for its intended purpose.
  • Store the adapter in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present and undamaged upon opening the package:

  • 1 x TUXING DIN Filling Station Adapter (G5/8-14 to Female 1/4NPT)
  • (Optional: Check for any included spare O-rings or seals, though not explicitly listed in product data, it's common for such adapters.)

4. Product Overview

The TUXING DIN Filling Station Adapter is designed to connect a G5/8-14 DIN valve (typically found on scuba tanks) to a device requiring a 1/4NPT female connection, such as a PCP air tank or other charging equipment. It features a robust stainless steel construction for durability and reliability in high-pressure applications.

5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up the adapter for use:

  1. Inspect Components: Before each use, visually inspect the adapter for any signs of damage, corrosion, or wear. Ensure all O-rings are present and in good condition.
  2. Connect to Scuba Tank:
    • Ensure the scuba tank valve is closed.
    • Thread the G5/8-14 DIN male end of the adapter into the DIN valve of your scuba tank.
    • Hand-tighten the connection firmly. Do not overtighten.

  3. Connect to Charging Equipment:
    • Thread the 1/4NPT male end of the adapter into the female 1/4NPT port of your charging hose or equipment.
    • Use a suitable wrench to tighten this connection securely. Apply thread sealant (e.g., PTFE tape) if recommended by your charging equipment manufacturer to ensure a leak-free seal.

  4. Leak Check: Before fully opening the scuba tank valve, slowly open it slightly and listen for any hissing sounds indicating a leak. If a leak is detected, close the valve immediately and re-tighten connections. Repeat the leak check.

6. Operating Instructions

Once the adapter is securely connected and leak-checked, proceed with charging your equipment:

  1. Open Scuba Tank Valve: Slowly and gradually open the scuba tank valve. This prevents a sudden rush of high-pressure air that could damage components or cause injury.
  2. Monitor Pressure: Observe the pressure gauge on your charging equipment to ensure the pressure is within safe limits for the receiving tank.
  3. Charge Equipment: Follow the specific charging procedures for your PCP air tank or other equipment.
  4. Close Scuba Tank Valve: Once charging is complete, close the scuba tank valve completely.
  5. Depressurize System: Slowly vent any remaining pressure from the charging hose and adapter before attempting to disconnect. This is crucial for safety.
  6. Disconnect: Once the system is fully depressurized, disconnect the charging equipment from the adapter, then disconnect the adapter from the scuba tank.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your adapter:

  • Cleaning: After each use, especially if exposed to saltwater, rinse the adapter with fresh water. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the threads and O-rings for wear, cuts, or damage. Replace O-rings as needed.
  • Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of silicone grease (oxygen-compatible if used with breathing air) to O-rings periodically to maintain their sealing properties.
  • Storage: Store the adapter in a clean, dry, and protected environment, away from direct sunlight, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
