The kit includes a Wi-Fi Weather Station Hub that also functions as a real-time internet weather forecaster, indoor/outdoor thermometer, hygrometer, and barometer, tracking environmental data every 3 minutes. The smart water timer supports two watering modes (Irrigation & Mist) and up to six separate watering programs with customizable start times, frequency, and duration. Setup Guide
App Installation
The RAINPOINT Smart Watering System is controlled via the HomGar App. Ensure your router operates on a 2.4Ghz band for compatibility.
- Download the HomGar App from your device's app store.
- Search for "HomGar" in the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android).
- Alternatively, scan the QR codes provided in the quick start guide or on the product packaging.
- Create an account and log in.

Hardware Installation & Pairing
- Install Batteries in Water Timer: Open the battery compartment on the water timer. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (positive, negative, positive, negative). Close the compartment securely.
- Connect Water Timer to Faucet: Apply Teflon tape to the threads of your outdoor faucet. Screw the water timer onto the faucet, ensuring a secure, leak-free connection. Position the timer so the screen is easily visible.
- Connect Hose: Attach your garden hose to the bottom outlet of the water timer.
- Plug in Wi-Fi Weather Station Hub: Plug the Wi-Fi Weather Station Hub into an indoor power outlet near your Wi-Fi router. The hub must remain powered for continuous operation.
- Pair Devices with App:
- In the HomGar App, navigate to 'Add Device'.
- Select the 'Weather Station Hub' option and follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network.
- Once the hub is connected, select 'Add Device' again and choose the '1-Zone Water Timer' (or relevant timer model).
- Follow the app's instructions to pair the water timer with the hub.

Operating Your RAINPOINT Smart Watering System
Watering Modes
The smart water timer supports two primary watering modes:
- Irrigation Mode: Standard watering for a set duration.
- Mist Mode: Intermittent watering, ideal for delicate plants or cooling.
Scheduling
You can set up to 6 separate watering programs with customized settings:
- Start Time: Define the exact time your watering program begins.
- Frequency: Choose how often the program repeats (e.g., daily, every other day, specific days).
- Duration: Specify the length of each watering session.
- Watering Basis: Water based on time, water usage, or soil moisture (soil sensor sold separately).
Remote Control & Monitoring
The HomGar App provides comprehensive control and real-time monitoring:
- Real-time Watering Status: View current watering activity.
- Water Records: Access daily and monthly water usage data.
- Alerts: Receive push notifications for water cut-offs, pipe leaks, clogs, or valve failures.
- Voice Control: Integrate with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for voice commands.

Rain Delay
To prevent overwatering during rainy periods, you can activate the Rain Delay feature via the app. This will pause scheduled watering for a specified duration (24, 48, or 72 hours).

Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: The water timer requires 4 AA batteries. Replace them as needed to ensure continuous operation. The hub is powered by a wall adapter and does not require batteries.
- Winterization: During freezing temperatures, it is highly recommended to disconnect the water timer from the faucet and bring it indoors to prevent damage.
- Cleaning: Periodically check and clean the screen filter in the timer's inlet to prevent debris from affecting water flow.
Troubleshooting
- Wi-Fi Connection Issues: Ensure your router is set to 2.4Ghz. The HomGar Series is only compatible with the HomGar App, not the RainPoint App.
- Hub Display Not Showing Timer Functions: The Wi-Fi Weather Station Hub primarily displays weather and environmental data. Timer control and detailed status (on/off, battery, water usage) are managed through the HomGar App on your smartphone.
- Inaccurate Sensor Readings: If the outdoor sensor or soil sensor (if purchased separately) provides inaccurate readings, ensure proper placement and check for any obstructions. Note that the outdoor sensor is not fully waterproof and should be deployed away from direct rain and sun.
- Water Leaks: Ensure all connections (faucet to timer, timer to hose) are tight and properly sealed with Teflon tape and gaskets.
- Timer Not Watering: Check battery levels in the water timer. Ensure the Wi-Fi Weather Station Hub is plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi. Verify that watering schedules are correctly set in the HomGar App.
