  • Lock the wheels to prevent accidental movement during operation.

3.3 Electrical Connection

  • Verify that the local power supply voltage matches the specifications on the appliance's rating label.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Water Bath

  • Ensure the drain valve is closed.
  • Fill the water bath with clean, potable water. Do not overfill; the water level should be approximately 2-3 cm below the top edge of the water bath, or up to the indicated maximum fill line.
  • Using hot water for filling can reduce heating time.

4.2 Placing GN Containers

  • Place the desired Gastronorm (GN) containers, filled with pre-cooked or hot food, into the water bath.
  • Ensure the containers are properly seated and do not touch the bottom heating elements directly.
  • Cover the GN containers with their respective lids to maintain temperature and moisture.

  • Rotate the temperature control dial to the desired temperature setting. The temperature gauge will show the current water bath temperature.
  • Allow sufficient time for the water to heat up and reach the set temperature.
  • Monitor the temperature gauge to ensure the desired holding temperature is maintained.

4.4 Shutting Down

  • When finished, turn the temperature control dial to the minimum setting or 'OFF'.
  • Turn the main power switch to the 'OFF' position and unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet.
  • Allow the unit to cool down completely before draining the water and cleaning.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your Bain Marie and ensure hygienic operation.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Ensure the appliance is unplugged and completely cooled before cleaning.
  • Open the drain valve to empty the water bath.
  • Clean the interior and exterior surfaces with a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely to prevent water spots and corrosion.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the stainless steel finish.

5.2 Descaling

  • Depending on water hardness and usage, scale buildup may occur in the water bath.
  • To descale, fill the water bath with a commercial descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Heat the solution for a short period (e.g., 15-30 minutes) at a moderate temperature, then turn off and unplug the unit.
  • Allow the solution to work, then drain and rinse the water bath thoroughly multiple times with clean water.

5.3 Storage

  • Store the clean and dry Bain Marie in a cool, dry place.
  • Ensure the power cord is neatly coiled and not kinked.
