5. Setup
5.1 Charging the Robot
- Place the Auto-Empty Dock on a hard, level surface against a wall, ensuring sufficient clear space around it (at least 0.5m on both sides and 1.5m in front).
- Connect the power cable to the dock and plug it into a power outlet.
- Place the robot vacuum onto the charging contacts of the dock. Ensure the robot is properly aligned and charging. The indicator lights on the robot will show charging status.
5.2 App Download and Connection
The Roborock app provides full control and customization options for your robot vacuum.
- Download the Roborock App: Search for "Roborock" in your mobile app store (App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android) and download the application.
- Reset WiFi: Press and hold the Power and Dock buttons on the robot simultaneously for three seconds until you hear the "Resetting WiFi" voice alert. The WiFi indicator light will flash slowly.
- Add Device: Open the Roborock app, tap the "Search for device" button, and follow the in-app instructions to connect your robot.
Note: The Roborock robot vacuum only supports 2.4G WiFi. If your router supports both 2.4G and 5G, it is recommended to temporarily switch to 2.4G WiFi during the setup process as per your router's instructions to ensure stable connection.

5.3 Initial Mapping
After successful connection, initiate a Quick Mapping run through the app. This allows the robot to create a detailed map of your home, which is crucial for efficient cleaning and advanced features like zone cleaning and virtual walls.

6.1 Starting and Stopping Cleaning
- Start Cleaning: Press the Power button on the robot or tap 'Clean' in the Roborock app. The robot will begin cleaning based on its current map and settings.
- Pause Cleaning: Press any button on the robot or tap 'Pause' in the app.
- Resume Cleaning: Press the Power button or tap 'Resume' in the app.
- Return to Dock: Press the Dock button on the robot or tap 'Recharge' in the app. The robot will return to its Auto-Empty Dock.

7.1 Dustbin and Filter
- Emptying the Dustbin: The Auto-Empty Dock handles this automatically. Replace the dust bag in the dock when full (approximately every 7 weeks).
- Cleaning the Filter: The filter is washable. Remove it from the dustbin and rinse under running water. Allow it to air dry completely before reinserting. Clean the filter at least once every two weeks.
