Product Overview

Wireless Receiver (AU800)

The AU800 receiver is the central unit of the system, featuring 8 channels for simultaneous microphone use. It includes individual volume controls for each channel, RF signal indicators, and various audio output options for connection to mixers or active speakers. The robust metal enclosure ensures durability.

Handheld Microphones

The handheld microphones are designed for comfortable grip and clear vocal reproduction. Each microphone features an ON/MUTE/OFF switch for easy control and operates on AA batteries.

Bodypack Transmitters with Lavalier/Headset Mics

The bodypack transmitters provide flexibility for users requiring hands-free operation. They connect to either lavalier (clip-on) or headset microphones, ideal for presentations, teaching, or performances. Each bodypack also operates on AA batteries and includes volume adjustment.

Setup Instructions

  1. Power On: Connect the power supply to the AU800 receiver and plug it into an electrical outlet. Turn on the receiver using the power switch.
  2. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartments of the handheld microphones and bodypack transmitters. Insert two AA batteries into each unit, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Automatic Linking: Once the receiver and microphones/bodypacks are powered on, they will automatically link. The RF indicators on the receiver will illuminate when a stable connection is established for each channel.
  4. Connect Antennas: Screw the provided antennas onto the corresponding ports on the rear of the receiver. Ensure they are securely tightened and positioned for optimal signal reception.
  5. Connect to Mixer (XLR Output): For individual channel control, connect XLR cables from the balanced XLR outputs on the receiver (Balanced A, B, C, etc.) to the XLR inputs on your audio mixer.
  6. Connect to Mixer (Mixed Output): Alternatively, for a combined output of all microphones, connect a 6.3mm (1/4 inch) audio cable from the 'Mixed Output' jack on the receiver to a line input on your audio mixer.
  7. Connect to Active Speakers (XLR Output): If connecting directly to active speakers, use an XLR cable from one of the balanced XLR outputs on the receiver to an XLR input on your active speaker.
  8. Connect to Active Speakers (Mixed Output): For a combined output to active speakers, use a 6.3mm (1/4 inch) audio cable from the 'Mixed Output' jack on the receiver to a line input on your active speaker.

Operating Instructions

  1. Microphone Power: Use the ON/MUTE/OFF switch on each handheld microphone or bodypack to power it on or off. The MUTE position temporarily silences the microphone without powering it down.
  2. Adjusting Volume: Each channel on the AU800 receiver has an independent volume control knob. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust these to achieve the desired audio level for each microphone.
  3. Signal Range: The system offers a wireless signal range of up to 80 meters (260 feet) in an open environment. Ensure clear line-of-sight between the microphones/bodypacks and the receiver for optimal performance.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the receiver and microphones. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in microphones and bodypacks when the low battery indicator appears or when performance degrades. Always use fresh AA batteries.
  • Storage: Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
  • Antenna Care: Handle antennas carefully to prevent bending or damage. Ensure they are properly connected for optimal signal.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No sound from microphoneMicrophone/bodypack off; low batteries; receiver off; incorrect cable connection; mixer/speaker input issue.Ensure microphone/bodypack is ON (not MUTE); replace batteries; check receiver power; verify all audio cables are correctly connected; check mixer/speaker input settings and volume.
Interference or static noiseOther wireless devices nearby; weak signal; environmental obstacles; incorrect frequency setting (less common with auto-link).Move away from other wireless devices (Wi-Fi routers, other wireless mics); ensure clear line-of-sight between transmitter and receiver; reposition antennas; try a different location if possible.
Low volume or distorted soundMicrophone volume too low; receiver channel volume too low; input gain on mixer/speaker too low/high; microphone too far from source.Increase microphone volume; adjust receiver channel volume; check input gain on connected audio equipment; ensure microphone is close enough to the sound source.
Microphone not linkingMicrophone/receiver not powered on; out of range; battery issue.Ensure both transmitter and receiver are powered on; bring transmitter closer to receiver; replace batteries.
