6. Drainage Methods
Your Kitette Dehumidifier offers two drainage options:
6.1 Manual Drainage (Water Tank)
- When the water tank is full, the unit will stop operating, and the red LED light will illuminate.
- Carefully pull out the water tank from the bottom of the unit.
- Empty the collected water into a sink or drain.
- Slide the empty water tank back into the unit until it clicks into place. The unit will resume operation automatically.
6.2 Continuous Drainage (Drain Hose)
For continuous operation without needing to empty the tank, use the provided 1.5m drain hose:
- Locate the continuous drain port on the side of the dehumidifier, usually covered by a rubber stopper.
- Remove the rubber stopper.
- Connect one end of the 1.5m drain hose to the drain port.
- Direct the other end of the hose to a suitable drain (e.g., floor drain, large bucket) ensuring it is lower than the drain port on the unit for gravity drainage.
- Ensure the hose is not kinked or blocked to allow for uninterrupted water flow.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your dehumidifier.
7.1 Cleaning the Exterior
- Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the surface.
7.2 Cleaning the Water Tank
- Remove the water tank and rinse it with clean water periodically.
- If there is any residue or mold, clean the tank with a mild detergent and warm water, then rinse thoroughly.
- Ensure the tank is completely dry before reinserting it into the unit.
7.3 Air Filter Cleaning (if applicable)
While this model does not explicitly mention a removable air filter, it is good practice to gently vacuum the air inlet and outlet grilles to remove any accumulated dust.
7.4 Storage
- If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water tank is empty and clean.
- Unplug the unit and coil the power cord neatly.
- Store the dehumidifier in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your dehumidifier, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Dehumidifier does not turn on. | No power supply. Power cord not properly connected. | Check if the unit is plugged in and the power outlet is working. Ensure the power cord is securely connected. |
| Unit is running but not collecting water. | Room humidity is too low. Ambient temperature is too low. Air inlet/outlet blocked. | Dehumidifier will only collect water if humidity is above 40-50%. The unit may be in defrost mode or operating in conditions below optimal. Ensure clear space around the unit. |
| Red LED light is on, unit stopped. | Water tank is full. | Empty the water tank and reinsert it correctly. |
| Unit is noisy. | Unit not on a level surface. Obstruction in fan. | Place the unit on a flat, stable surface. Check for any foreign objects near the fan or air vents. |
| Water leaking from the unit. | Water tank not properly inserted. Continuous drain hose is kinked or blocked. | Ensure the water tank is fully and correctly inserted. Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages and ensure it is properly connected. |
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.
