2. Setup Instructions

Setting up your UANTIN 7-in-1 USB C Multiport Adapter is straightforward. No additional drivers are required for most operating systems.

  1. Connect the Adapter to Your Device: Insert the USB-C connector of the UANTIN hub into an available USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port on your laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Ensure the connection is secure.
  2. Power Connection (Optional but Recommended): For optimal performance, especially when connecting multiple power-consuming devices or using the HDMI output, connect your device's original USB-C power adapter to the USB-C PD port on the hub. This provides up to 100W pass-through charging to your host device.
  3. Connect Peripherals: You can now connect your desired peripherals (e.g., external monitor, USB drives, mouse, keyboard, SD/TF cards) to the corresponding ports on the hub.

Important Note: Ensure your USB-C host device supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) for the HDMI port to function correctly.

3.2. USB-A Ports (USB 3.0 & USB 2.0)

The hub includes one USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports for connecting various USB peripherals.

  • USB 3.0 Port: Offers data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps, ideal for external hard drives, SSDs, or high-speed flash drives.
  • USB 2.0 Ports: Provide data transfer speeds up to 480Mbps, suitable for connecting keyboards, mice, printers, or other standard USB devices.

Simply plug your USB devices into the corresponding ports. These ports are for data transfer only and do not support charging functions for connected devices.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your UANTIN USB C Hub, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the hub with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners, aerosols, or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the hub in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts. Do not bend or pull the integrated cable excessively.
  • Moisture: Keep the hub away from water and other liquids. If it comes into contact with liquid, disconnect it immediately and allow it to dry completely before reuse.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your UANTIN USB C Hub, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Display Output via HDMI:
    • Ensure your host USB-C device supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (video output over USB-C).
    • Check the HDMI cable connection between the hub and the monitor. Try a different HDMI cable if possible.
    • Verify the monitor input source is set correctly to HDMI.
    • Restart your host device.
  • USB Devices Not Recognized or Working:
    • Ensure the hub's USB-C connector is fully inserted into your host device.
    • Try connecting the USB device directly to your host device (if possible) to rule out the device itself.
    • If connecting multiple power-hungry USB devices, ensure the hub is connected to a power source via its USB-C PD port.
    • Try connecting the USB device to a different USB-A port on the hub.
  • SD/TF Card Not Detected:
    • Ensure the card is fully and correctly inserted into the appropriate slot.
    • Check if the card is damaged or corrupted by trying it in another device.
    • Ensure the card is not write-protected.
  • Slow Data Transfer Speeds:
    • Ensure you are using the USB 3.0 port for high-speed devices.
    • The actual speed can be affected by the host device's USB-C port capabilities and the connected device's speed.
    • Avoid connecting too many power-intensive devices simultaneously without external power.
  • Charging Issue via PD Port:
    • Ensure your USB-C power adapter is functioning correctly and is connected to the hub's PD port.
    • Verify that your host device supports USB-C Power Delivery.
