Image: A detailed wiring diagram for installing the receiver into a ceiling fan canopy is shown, alongside critical safety warnings regarding high voltage, power disconnection, and electrical code compliance.

  • WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE! Always disconnect power by removing the fuse or switching off the circuit breaker before installation or maintenance.
  • Do not use this kit with solid-state fans.
  • All electrical wiring must meet local and national electrical code requirements. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
  • The power supply for the fan must be 110-120 volts, 60Hz.
  • Maximum fan motor amperage: 1.0A.
  • Maximum light watts: 300W (dimmable LED or incandescent only). Exceeding this limit can cause serious injury or death.

Package Contents

Your Prichor Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control Kit includes the following components:

  • 1 x Remote Control (requires 1x 9V battery, not included)
  • 1 x Remote Holder
  • 1 x Receiver
  • 6 x Wire Nuts
  • 2 x Screws
  • 1 x Instruction Manual

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully to install your ceiling fan remote control kit. Ensure power is disconnected before beginning.

1. Setting the DIP Switches (Code Matching)

Receiver and remote control with DIP switches highlighted

Image: The receiver and remote control are shown side-by-side, with arrows pointing to their respective DIP switches. The note explains that the codes on both devices must match for proper communication.

  • Locate the DIP switches on both the receiver and inside the remote control's battery compartment.
  • Set the same code combination on both the transmitter (remote) and the receiver. There are 16 different frequency combinations possible.
  • The default setting is typically "0000", but it is not recommended to use this setting to avoid interference with other devices. Choose a unique combination.
  • Install a 9V battery (not included) into the remote control after setting the DIP switches.

2. Wiring the Receiver

Detailed wiring diagram for installing the ceiling fan remote receiver

Image: A step-by-step visual guide for wiring the receiver. It shows disconnecting existing fan wiring, connecting the receiver's wires (AC IN, TO MOTOR, TO LIGHT) using wire nuts, and then installing the controller into the canopy.

  1. Disconnect Power: Ensure power to the ceiling fan is completely off at the circuit breaker.
  2. Access Wiring: Remove the canopy from your ceiling fan to access the wiring.
  3. Disconnect Existing Wiring: Carefully disconnect the existing wiring from the ceiling fan.
  4. Connect Receiver: Connect the receiver according to the wiring diagram provided. The receiver has 5 wires (excluding the antenna), each marked with its function. Use the included wire nuts for secure connections.
    • AC IN (Black/White): Connect to your household power supply.
    • TO MOTOR (Black/Blue): Connect to the fan motor wires.
    • TO LIGHT (Blue): Connect to the fan light wire.
  5. Install Receiver: Carefully tuck the wired receiver into the ceiling fan canopy. Ensure no wires are pinched.
  6. Reattach Canopy: Securely reattach the fan canopy.
  7. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

Important Note for Fans with Pull Chains:

If your ceiling fan has pull chain switches, before using the wireless remote control, use the pull chain switch to set the fan speed to maximum (HI) and turn the fan light ON. This ensures that the pull chain switches and the wireless remote control can be used together effectively.
