4.2 Time-Lapse Filming

The camera supports automatic time-lapse video creation. Once enabled, the camera will capture images at set intervals and compile them into a time-lapse video of your print. These videos can be accessed and shared via the Creality Cloud platform.

4.3 AI Detection Features

The K1 AI Camera incorporates artificial intelligence for enhanced print reliability:

  • Print Failure Detection: The camera can identify common printing issues, such as spaghetti failures or layer shifts. Upon detection, the printer can automatically pause the print job, minimizing filament waste and potential damage.
  • Foreign Object Detection (with AI Lidar): When paired with an optional AI Lidar (purchased separately), the camera can detect foreign objects on the print platform before printing begins. This feature automatically pauses the process to prevent collisions with the hotend.

4.4 Remote Printing and Control

Through the Creality Cloud or Creality Print software, you can initiate and manage print jobs remotely. The camera's live feed provides visual confirmation of the print's progress and status.

4.5 Night Vision Functionality

The camera is equipped with night vision capabilities, allowing for clear monitoring of prints even in low-light or dark environments.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Creality K1 AI Camera, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Lens Cleaning: Gently clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust or smudges that may affect image clarity. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Cable Management: Ensure all cables are neatly routed and secured to prevent interference with printer movement or accidental disconnections.
  • Software Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates for both the camera and your 3D printer to benefit from performance improvements and new features.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Creality K1 AI Camera, try the following:

  • No Camera Feed:
    • Verify the camera is securely connected to the printer's interface.
    • Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
    • Restart the Creality Print software or Creality Cloud app.
    • Check for and install any pending firmware updates for the camera or printer.
  • Poor Image Quality:
    • Clean the camera lens as described in the Maintenance section.
    • Ensure adequate lighting in the print area, especially if night vision is not active.
  • AI Detection Issues:
    • Confirm that AI detection features are enabled in your printer's settings or Creality Print/Cloud.
    • If using AI Lidar, ensure it is correctly installed and calibrated.
    • Some print geometries or filament colors may affect detection accuracy.
  • Connectivity Problems:
    • Ensure your printer and the device accessing the camera (phone/PC) are on the same local area network (LAN).
    • Check your network connection for stability.
