Operating Instructions
Using AC Outlets
The surge protector features 10 grounded AC outlets. To use an outlet, rotate the safety cover until the prongs are visible, then firmly insert your device's plug. When an outlet is not in use, rotate the safety cover back to the closed position to prevent dust accumulation and accidental contact.
Using USB Charging Ports
Two USB-A ports are available for charging mobile devices. Simply connect your device's USB charging cable to one of the ports. The ports provide 2.4A/12W of power, suitable for smartphones, tablets, and other USB-powered accessories.
Maintenance
The GE UltraPro Adapt Surge Protector requires minimal maintenance. Regularly inspect the unit and its cord for any signs of damage. Keep the surge protector clean by wiping it with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or immerse the unit in water. Periodically check the 'Protected' and 'Grounded' indicator lights to ensure the unit is functioning correctly.
Troubleshooting
'Protected' Indicator Light is Off
If the blue 'Protected' indicator light is off, it means the surge protection components have been consumed, and the unit can no longer protect your devices from surges. The surge protector will continue to function as a power strip, but without surge protection. It is recommended to replace the unit to maintain full protection for your electronics.
'Grounded' Indicator Light is Off
If the green 'Grounded' indicator light is off, it indicates that the wall outlet is not properly grounded. Consult a qualified electrician to inspect and correct the wiring of your wall outlet. The surge protector will not provide optimal protection if not properly grounded.
Devices Not Receiving Power
- Ensure the surge protector's power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Verify that the surge protector is securely plugged into a functioning wall outlet.
- Check if the circuit breaker on the surge protector has tripped. If so, reset it by pressing the button.
- Confirm that the device itself is properly connected and powered on.
