2. Setup

2.1. Adjusting Interpupillary Distance

The interpupillary distance (the distance between the centers of your pupils) varies from person to person. To achieve a single, clear field of view:

  1. Hold the binoculars up to your eyes.
  2. Adjust the two halves of the binoculars by rotating them on the central hinge until you see a single, circular field of view.
  3. Ensure the image is comfortable and free of dark edges (vignetting).

2.2. Attaching the Neck Strap

Attach the included neck strap to the strap lugs on the sides of the binoculars. Ensure the strap is securely fastened before use to prevent accidental drops.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Using PermaFocus Technology

The Spectator Sport binoculars feature PermaFocus technology, which means they are designed to keep distant objects permanently in focus. There is no manual focus wheel. Simply raise the binoculars to your eyes, and objects beyond a certain minimum distance will appear clear. This is ideal for fast-moving events where quick viewing is essential.

3.2. Viewing with Eyeglasses

These binoculars are designed with 13mm eye relief, making them suitable for users with or without eyeglasses. If you wear eyeglasses, you may find it more comfortable to use the binoculars with your glasses on, as the fixed focus design accommodates this. Adjust the interpupillary distance as described in Section 2.1 for optimal viewing.

3.3. Changing Accent Tiles

Your binoculars come with changeable colored accent tiles (black, white, blue, red) for personalization. To change them:

  1. Gently pry off the existing accent tiles from the sides of the binoculars.
  2. Align the desired new accent tiles with the slots and press firmly until they click into place.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning the Lenses

To clean the lenses, use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces. Avoid using abrasive cloths, paper towels, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch the lens coatings. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid applied to the cloth (not directly to the lens) can be used.

4.2. Storage

When not in use, store your binoculars in the provided carrying case in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or high humidity for extended periods. Keep lens caps on to protect the optics from dust and scratches.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Blurred Image

  • Distant Objects: Ensure the interpupillary distance is correctly set (Section 2.1). For objects within the fixed focus range, they should appear clear.
  • Close Objects: Remember that PermaFocus binoculars are designed for distant viewing and do not have a close-focus capability. Objects closer than approximately 20 yards (18 meters) may appear blurred.
  • Lens Cleanliness: Check if the lenses are dirty or smudged (Section 4.1).

5.2. Internal Fogging

These binoculars are nitrogen purged and fog-proof. If internal fogging occurs, it may be due to extreme and rapid temperature changes. Allow the binoculars to gradually adjust to the ambient temperature. If persistent, contact customer support.
