6.4 Understanding Ventilation Recommendations
The weather station provides visual cues to help you maintain optimal indoor air quality:
- TOO WET: Indicates high indoor humidity, suggesting ventilation to prevent condensation and mould.
- COMFORT: Indicates optimal indoor temperature and humidity levels.
- TOO DRY: Indicates low indoor humidity, suggesting humidification might be beneficial.
The mould alert icon will illuminate if indoor humidity remains high for an extended period, indicating a risk of mould growth.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the main unit and outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries at the same time.
- Sensor Placement Check: Periodically check the outdoor sensor's placement to ensure it remains protected from direct weather elements and has clear signal transmission.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display on main unit. | Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted. | Check battery polarity and replace batteries if necessary. |
| Outdoor temperature/humidity not displayed or flashing. | No signal from outdoor sensor; sensor out of range or batteries low. | Move sensor closer to the main unit. Replace sensor batteries. Press "CH" button on main unit to re-scan. |
| Inaccurate readings. | Sensor exposed to direct sunlight, heat sources, or moisture. | Relocate the sensor to a shaded, well-ventilated area. Ensure proper protection from rain. |
