Setup
1. Setting the Time
- Pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch) out to position 2. You may feel a slight click.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to move the hands until the correct time is displayed. Ensure you set the correct AM/PM for the day/date function to change at midnight.
- Once the time is set, push the crown back in to position 1 (normal operating position).
2. Setting the Day and Date
- Pull the crown out to position 2.
- Turn the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day of the week.
- Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
- Set the day and date to the day before and date before the current day/date. For example, if today is Tuesday the 15th, set it to Monday the 14th.
- Now, turn the crown clockwise to advance the time. As the hour hand passes 12, observe if the day and date change. If they do, you have passed midnight. Continue advancing the time until the correct current day and date are displayed.
- Once the day and date are set, push the crown back in to position 1.
3. Adjusting the Expansion Band
The watch features a flexible expansion band designed for comfort. For minor adjustments, the band will adapt to your wrist. If the band is significantly too tight or too loose, it may require professional adjustment by a jeweler to add or remove links. Do not attempt to force the band or remove links yourself, as this may damage the watch or band.
Operating Your Watch
Your Armitron watch is designed for reliable timekeeping and features a day/date display for added utility.
- Timekeeping: The watch operates continuously once set, powered by a quartz movement.
- Day/Date Function: The day and date indicators will automatically advance at midnight. If the watch stops or is not worn for an extended period, you may need to reset these functions as described in the "Setup" section.
- Luminous Hands and Markers: The hands and hour markers are treated with a luminous material that glows in the dark after exposure to light, allowing for readability in low-light conditions. The intensity and duration of the glow depend on the exposure to light.
- Water Resistance: This watch is water resistant to 165 feet (50 meters). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or snorkeling. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean your watch, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. For the expansion band, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure the watch is thoroughly dried afterward. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Battery Replacement: Your watch is powered by a quartz battery. When the watch stops running, it indicates the battery needs replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watchmaker or authorized service center to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
- Water Resistance Care: While water resistant, avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes (e.g., hot showers followed by cold water) as this can compromise the seals. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.
- Storage: When not in use, store your watch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
