4. Setup
The Frigga M1D data logger comes ready for use with a pre-installed CR2450 battery. No initial charging or complex setup is required.
- Inspect Device: Before use, visually inspect the data logger for any signs of damage.
- Battery: The device includes one CR2450 battery, which is already installed and provides long-lasting power for the single-use duration.
5. Operation
5.1 Starting a Recording
To begin temperature recording:
- Locate the Start Button on the front of the device.
- Press and hold the Start Button until the LED indicator confirms recording has begun (typically a green flash or specific display on the LCD).
- Place the data logger in the environment where temperature monitoring is required.
5.2 Stopping a Recording
To end temperature recording:
- Locate the Stop Button on the front of the device.
- Press and hold the Stop Button until the LED indicator confirms recording has stopped.
5.3 Generating Reports
The Frigga M1D automatically generates PDF and CSV reports once connected to a computer. It is crucial to wait until the end of the monitoring period before exporting the report, as plugging the device into a USB port will stop the recording and prevent it from being restarted.

Figure 3: Connecting the Frigga M1D to a computer via USB automatically generates PDF and CSV reports, compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Remove the USB Cover to expose the USB connector.
- Plug the data logger into an available USB port on any computer (Windows or macOS).
- The device will appear as a removable storage device. Navigate to the device's drive.
- Locate and open the automatically generated PDF and/or CSV report files.
- Save the reports to your computer for analysis and record-keeping.
6. Maintenance
The Frigga M1D data logger requires minimal maintenance:
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the device with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
- Battery: The device is designed for single use and comes with a long-lasting CR2450 battery. Battery replacement is not intended for end-users.
- Storage: Store the data logger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Frigga M1D data logger, refer to the following:
- Device Not Starting: Ensure the Start button is pressed and held correctly until the LED indicator responds. If the device has been previously plugged into a USB port, it cannot be restarted for a new recording cycle.
- No Report Generated: Verify that the data logger is securely plugged into a functional USB port. Ensure the recording cycle was completed (stopped) before attempting to generate a report.
- LED Alarm Indicator: A red LED indicates that the temperature has gone beyond the pre-set thresholds. Check the recorded data in the report for details on the alarm event.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the device is placed in an environment suitable for its specified measurement range. Avoid placing it near direct heat sources or extreme cold that exceed its operational limits.
