  5. Adjust the angle of the dashcam and its lenses to cover the desired recording areas (front, left, right, and interior).
  6. Install the rear camera, typically on the rear windshield, and connect its cable to the main dashcam unit.

3.2 Recording Features

  • Loop Recording: The dashcam continuously records, automatically overwriting the oldest unlocked files when the Micro SD card reaches its maximum storage capacity. Locked videos are protected from being overwritten.
  • Emergency Lock (G-Sensor): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor automatically detects the event and locks the current video segment, saving it to a separate 'events' folder to prevent it from being overwritten.

3.3 Parking Monitoring

For continuous surveillance when your vehicle is parked, the D70-4CH offers a 24-hour parking monitoring mode. This feature requires a dedicated ACC hardwire kit (sold separately) to ensure constant power without draining your car's battery.

  • 24H Parking Mode: When a collision is detected while parked, all four cameras will automatically activate and record the event.
  • Time-Lapse Recording: In parking mode, the dashcam can record video at 1 frame per second, compressing long periods into short, reviewable clips. This saves memory card space and allows for faster playback of parking events.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Micro SD Card Management

To ensure optimal performance and prevent recording errors, regular maintenance of your Micro SD card is crucial.

  • Regular Formatting: It is recommended to format the Micro SD card every 2-4 weeks, especially if you frequently use the parking monitoring feature or have many locked files. This helps maintain card health and prevents data corruption.
  • Card Capacity: The dashcam supports Micro SD cards up to 256GB. Ensure you use a high-quality, high-speed (Class 10 or U3 recommended) Micro SD card for reliable recording.
  • Replacement: Micro SD cards have a limited lifespan due to continuous overwriting. If you experience frequent recording errors or file corruption, consider replacing the Micro SD card.

4.2 Cleaning

  • Lenses: Gently wipe the camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust or smudges that could affect video quality.
  • Device Body: Use a dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the exterior of the dashcam. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Rhorawill D70-4CH dashcam, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Dashcam not powering on:
    • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dashcam and the vehicle's power outlet.
    • Check if the vehicle's power outlet (cigarette lighter) is functioning correctly.
  • Recording errors or corrupted files:
    • Format the Micro SD card through the dashcam's menu settings.
    • Ensure the Micro SD card is a high-speed (Class 10 or U3) card and not faulty. Try a different Micro SD card.
  • Parking monitoring not working:
    • Verify that the ACC hardwire kit is correctly installed and connected.
    • Check the parking mode settings in the dashcam menu.
  • Poor video quality (blurry, dark):
    • Clean the camera lenses with a soft cloth.
    • Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses.
    • Check if WDR is enabled in the settings for challenging light conditions.
  • GPS not tracking location/speed:
    • Ensure the dashcam has a clear view of the sky for GPS signal reception.
    • Check GPS settings in the dashcam menu.
  • WiFi connection issues:
    • Ensure the GFGCAM app is installed and updated on your smartphone.
    • Restart both the dashcam and your smartphone, then try connecting again.
