5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your yeezoo 2-Step Metal Stair Stringers:

  1. Prepare the Ground/Base: Ensure the ground where the stringers will rest is level and stable. For uneven surfaces, consider adding gravel, bricks, or cement blocks to create a level foundation. This is crucial for the stability and safety of your stairs.
  2. Position the Stringers: Place the two metal stringers in the desired location, ensuring they are parallel and spaced appropriately for your chosen tread width. The stringers are designed for a 19.4-inch height deck.
  3. Mark Fixing Points: Hold the stringers against the deck or wall. Use a level to ensure the stringers are perfectly level both front-to-back and side-to-side. Mark the pre-drilled holes on the stringer's vertical support onto your deck or wall.
  4. Secure to Deck/Wall:
    • For Wooden Decks: Use lag bolts (not included) to securely fasten the stringers to the side of the wooden deck through the pre-drilled holes.
    • For Concrete/Masonry: Use the provided expansion screws. Drill holes at the marked points using the included drill bit. Insert the expansion screws and tighten them with the provided wrench to firmly secure the stringers to the concrete surface.
  5. Prepare Treads: Cut your chosen wooden treads to a width of 10.1 inches or slightly wider. Ensure the length is appropriate for the desired width of your staircase.
  6. Attach Treads: Place the treads onto the step brackets of the stringers. The stringers feature four pre-drilled holes per step bracket for securing the treads. These holes are strategically placed to facilitate screwing from underneath. Use the provided tapping screws to fasten the treads securely to the stringers. You may need specialized tools to access and tighten screws from underneath due to the hole placement.
  7. Final Check: Once all treads are attached, re-check the stability of the entire staircase. Ensure all screws are tight and the stairs are level and secure before use.
