1. Introduction

Welcome to your new CUSIMAX 1500W Indoor Electric Smokeless Grill & Griddle. This appliance is designed for convenient indoor grilling, offering a versatile cooking experience with minimal smoke. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe and optimal operation.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
  • Do not immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  • Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Before first use, wash all detachable parts (grill/griddle plate, drip tray, glass lid) with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth.

4.2 Assembly Steps

  1. Place the main unit (base with control panel) on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Insert the Drip Tray into the base.
  3. Place the Silver Heat Reflector over the drip tray.
  4. Position the Heating Element assembly into the designated slots.
  5. Choose either the Grill Plate or Griddle Plate and place it on top of the heating element.
  6. Attach the handle to the Tempered Glass Lid using the provided screws and components (if not pre-assembled).
  7. Connect the Power Cord to the unit.

4.3 Adding Water to Drip Tray

Before each use, ensure the drip tray contains water. This is crucial for the smokeless function. Fill the drip tray with approximately 1/2 cup of water. The fan will pull smoke and grease downwards into this water.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Temperature Control

  1. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Press the Power Button (U) on the control panel. The LED Smart Display will illuminate.
  3. Use the temperature adjustment buttons (^ / v) to set the desired cooking temperature. The range is 200°F to 450°F.
  4. The integrated fan will automatically activate to ensure smokeless operation by drawing smoke and grease into the water-filled drip tray.

5.2 Preheating

Allow the grill to preheat for 5-10 minutes to reach the set temperature. The LED display will show the current temperature as it rises.

5.3 Grilling and Griddling

Once preheated, place food directly onto the chosen grill or griddle plate. Use the tempered glass lid to retain heat, speed up cooking, and minimize splatter. The perforated grill plate allows excess oil to drain, creating distinct grill marks. The flat griddle plate is ideal for breakfast items like pancakes, eggs, and bacon.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.1 After Each Use

  1. Unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before handling any parts.
  2. Remove the grill/griddle plate, heating element, silver heat reflector, and drip tray.
  3. The grill/griddle plate, drip tray, and tempered glass lid are dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning.
  4. Wipe the heating element and the main unit (base) with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit or heating element in water.
  5. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing the appliance.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Appliance not turning on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a functional grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the Power Button is pressed.
  • Excessive smoke: Verify that the drip tray contains sufficient water. Clean the heating element and fan if there is visible grease buildup. Ensure the fan is operating.
  • Food not cooking evenly: Allow the grill to preheat for the recommended time. Distribute food evenly across the cooking surface. Ensure the correct temperature setting for the food type.
  • Food sticking to plate: Ensure the non-stick surface is clean and intact. Apply a thin layer of cooking oil before preheating.
