3. Setup and Installation

The CROWN PRO-BF04 range hood is designed for under-cabinet mounting and offers versatile venting options.

3.1 Dimensions and Clearance

Ensure adequate space for installation. The product dimensions are approximately 20.08"D x 27.72"W x 5.51"H.

3.2 Venting Options

This model supports multiple venting configurations:

  • Top Vent: Available with a 6" round outlet or a 10" x 3 1/4" rectangular outlet.
  • Rear Vent: A 10" x 3 1/4" rectangular outlet is also available.

Select the appropriate vent converter and ductwork for your kitchen setup. Ensure all duct connections are sealed properly to maximize efficiency.

3.3 Electrical Connection

The unit operates on 120 Volts / 60Hz. It is designed for simple plug-in operation, eliminating the need for complex hardwiring. Ensure the power outlet is easily accessible and properly grounded.

4. Operating Instructions

The CROWN range hood is equipped with user-friendly controls for efficient kitchen ventilation.

4.1 Power and Speed Control

The range hood features three-level speed control push buttons. Press the desired button to select the fan speed:

  • Low Speed: For light cooking and simmering.
  • Medium Speed: For general cooking and moderate smoke.
  • High Speed: For heavy cooking, frying, and strong odors.

The maximum exhaust airflow is 800 CFM, ensuring powerful ventilation. The noise level ranges from 1.5 to 4.5 sones depending on the selected speed.

4.2 LED Lighting

The unit includes two 20W LED light bulbs to illuminate your cooktop. Press the light button on the control panel to turn the lights on or off.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.

5.1 Cleaning Baffle Filters

The stainless steel baffle filters are designed for easy removal and cleaning. They are dishwasher-safe for convenient maintenance.

  • To remove: Locate the latches on the filters, push them in, and pull the filter down.
  • Cleaning: Place filters in the dishwasher or wash by hand with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before reinstalling.
  • Reinstallation: Align the filter with the slots and push it up until the latches click into place.

5.2 Cleaning the Oil Collection Tray

The fan blades are coated with Teflon to help separate grease, which is then deposited into a removable grease collection tray. This tray should be emptied and cleaned regularly.

  • To remove: Gently slide out the oil collection tray located at the rear of the filter area.
  • Cleaning: Wash the tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Reinstallation: Slide the tray back into its designated slot until secure.

5.3 Exterior Cleaning

Wipe the exterior stainless steel surfaces with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could scratch the finish.
