4. Operating the Keyboard
4.1 Basic Functions
The CB-GK-26 Pandora functions as a standard QWERTY keyboard. All alphanumeric keys, modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt), and function keys (F1-F12) operate as expected.
4.2 Function (Fn) Key Combinations
The keyboard features an Fn key, which, when pressed in combination with other keys, activates special functions such as multimedia controls, lighting adjustments, and other system shortcuts. Refer to the keycap legends for specific Fn key combinations.
- Fn + F1-F12: Typically control multimedia playback, volume, and other system functions.
- Fn + Arrow Keys: Often used to adjust backlight brightness or animation speed.
- Fn + Specific Keys: May cycle through different RGB lighting modes or colors.
4.3 Swapping Mechanical Switches
The CB-GK-26 Pandora features hot-swappable Outemu mechanical switches, allowing you to customize your typing experience. This process requires careful handling.
- Remove Keycap: Use the provided keycap puller to gently remove the keycap from the switch you wish to replace. Grip the keycap firmly and pull straight up.
- Remove Switch: Use the provided switch puller. Position the prongs of the switch puller onto the two small clips on the top and bottom sides of the switch. Squeeze the puller to compress the clips and gently pull the switch straight up from the PCB.
- Insert New Switch: Align the pins of the new Outemu switch with the holes on the keyboard's PCB. Ensure the pins are straight. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place. Do not force it; if resistance is met, check pin alignment.
- Replace Keycap: Place the keycap back onto the new switch and press down firmly until it is seated properly.
Important: Only use Outemu brand switches for replacement. Using other switch brands may damage the keyboard's PCB.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Keyboard
- General Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the keyboard surface regularly.
- Dust Removal: Use compressed air to blow away dust and debris from between the keycaps.
- Deep Cleaning (Keycaps): For thorough cleaning, you can remove the keycaps using the provided keycap puller. Wash the keycaps with mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and ensure they are completely dry before reattaching them.
- Switch Cleaning: Avoid spraying liquids directly into the switches. If a switch feels sticky, a small amount of switch lubricant designed for mechanical keyboards can be applied, but this is generally not required for new switches.
5.2 General Care
- Avoid exposing the keyboard to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures.
- Do not drop the keyboard or subject it to strong impacts.
- Keep the keyboard away from direct sunlight for prolonged periods to prevent discoloration.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Keyboard Not Responding
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
- Try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port on your computer.
- Test the keyboard on another computer to determine if the issue is with the keyboard or your system.
- Restart your computer.
6.2 Specific Keys Not Working
- Carefully remove the keycap and inspect the mechanical switch underneath for any visible damage or debris.
- If the switch is damaged, replace it with one of the spare Outemu switches provided, following the instructions in Section 4.3.
- Ensure the keycap is properly seated on the switch.
6.3 Backlighting Issues
- Check if the backlighting is turned off or set to a very low brightness level using the Fn key combinations (refer to Section 4.2).
- Ensure the keyboard is properly connected and receiving sufficient power from the USB port.
