5. Operating Instructions

The Alpicool XD55 offers intuitive controls for temperature management and power efficiency.

5.1 Temperature Control

The refrigerator features an adjustable temperature range from -20°C to 20°C. Use the control panel on the unit to set your desired temperature for the main freezer compartment. The smaller cooler compartment's temperature will vary relative to the main compartment.

Diagram showing recommended temperatures for different food types: Fruit/Vegetable at 10°C, Drink at 0°C, Ice Cream at -17°C, Meat at -20°C. Also shows ECO mode (45W) and MAX mode (60W).

Figure 5.1: Recommended temperature settings for various items and power consumption in ECO and MAX modes.

5.2 MAX and ECO Modes

  • MAX Mode: Provides rapid cooling, ideal for quickly bringing contents to the desired temperature. Power consumption is approximately 60W.
  • ECO Mode: Optimizes energy efficiency for prolonged use, reducing power consumption to approximately 45W. This mode is suitable for maintaining temperature once the desired level is reached.

5.3 3-Level Battery Protection

The integrated battery protection system prevents excessive discharge of your vehicle's battery. You can select from three levels: High (HEGH), Medium (MED), and Low (LOW).

  • High (HEGH): Provides the strongest battery protection, cutting off power at a higher voltage to ensure your vehicle starts.
  • Medium (MED): A balanced setting for battery protection.
  • Low (LOW): Allows for deeper battery discharge, providing longer operation time but with less battery protection.

Refer to the control panel or user interface for instructions on how to select the battery protection level.

    • Always disconnect power before cleaning.
    • Clean the interior and exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
    • The unit features a drain plug for easy water removal during cleaning.
    • Ensure the unit is completely dry before reconnecting power.
  • Defrosting: The Alpicool XD55 features an automatic defrosting system. However, if a thick layer of ice builds up, manually defrost the unit by unplugging it and allowing the ice to melt. Use a soft cloth to wipe away melted water. Do not use sharp objects to remove ice.
  • Ventilation: Periodically check that the ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris. Clean with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner if necessary.
  • Storage: If storing the refrigerator for an extended period, ensure it is clean, dry, and leave the lid slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
