Setup
The RC-51 data logger is designed for ease of use. Before initial use, it is recommended to configure the device parameters using the Elitechlog software, which can be downloaded from the Elitech website. Parameters such as logging interval, start options, and alarm settings can be customized.
- Software Installation: Download and install the Elitechlog software on your computer (Windows or macOS compatible).
- Connect Device: Remove the transparent cap to reveal the USB port. Plug the data logger into an available USB port on your computer.
- Configure Settings: Open the Elitechlog software. The device should be recognized automatically. Use the software interface to set desired logging parameters, including start mode (button press, timed, or delay), logging interval, and temperature alarm thresholds.
- Disconnect Safely: After configuration, safely eject the device from your computer.

Operating Instructions
Starting a Recording Session
- Button Start: If configured for button start, press and hold the button on the data logger until the "REC" icon appears on the LCD, indicating recording has begun.
- Timed Start: If configured for timed start, the device will automatically begin recording at the pre-set time.
- Delay Start: If configured for delay start, the device will begin recording after a specified delay period once activated.
Monitoring Data on LCD
A single click on the button allows browsing through various LCD display pages:
- Current temperature value
- Maximum (Max) temperature value
- Minimum (Min) temperature value
- Current Date
- Logging points (number of recorded data points)
- Fahrenheit / Celsius switchable display

Stopping a Recording Session
Recording will stop automatically when the memory is full, or when the device is connected to a computer and a report is generated. If configured, recording can also be stopped by pressing and holding the button on the device.
Generating Reports
To generate a report, simply plug the data logger into a USB port on your computer. The device will automatically create an encrypted PDF report. The Elitechlog software can also be used to export data in PDF, Excel, or TXT formats for more detailed analysis and comparison.


Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery: The device uses a Lithium Metal battery (included). Refer to the Elitechlog software or device specifications for battery life and replacement information.
- Storage: Store the data logger in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure the transparent cap is securely in place to protect the USB port.
- Calibration: For critical applications, regular calibration is recommended. Elitech provides a two-year validation certificate.
