- 8 x 2.5G PoE Ports (1-8): RJ-45 ports supporting 2500Mbps/1000Mbps/100Mbps data rates and IEEE802.3af/at PoE.
- 1 x 10G SFP+ Slot (Port 9): Supports SR/LR/LRM/ER/ZR modules (not included) and is compatible with 1Gbps rates.
- LED Indicators: Power, Link/Act, 2.5G, 100M/1000M, and PoE status for each port.
- DIP Switch: Allows selection between Default Mode and VLAN Isolation Mode.
Rear Panel Features
- AC Power Input: For connecting the included power cord (AC 100-240V 50/60Hz).
- Cooling Fan: Integrated for heat dissipation to ensure stable long-term operation.
Setup
1. Physical Installation
The switch supports both desktop placement and rack-mounting. Ensure adequate ventilation around the device.
- Desktop Placement: Place the switch on a flat, stable surface.
- Rack-Mounting: Use the provided mounting ears to secure the switch in a standard server rack.

2. Power Connection
- Connect one end of the included power cord to the AC power input on the rear panel of the switch.
- Plug the other end of the power cord into a standard AC power outlet.
- The Power LED indicator on the front panel will illuminate, indicating the switch is powered on.
3. Network Connections
Connect your network devices to the switch using Ethernet cables.
- RJ-45 Ports (1-8): Connect your computers, servers, network-attached storage (NAS), or other network devices to these 2.5G ports.
- 10G SFP+ Slot (Port 9): Insert a compatible SFP+ module (e.g., for fiber optic connection) and connect it to your core network or other high-speed devices.

4. PoE Device Connection
For Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, or IP phones, connect them to any of the 8 PoE-enabled RJ-45 ports (1-8). The switch will automatically detect and provide power to compliant IEEE802.3af/at devices.

Image: Diagram illustrating how PoE devices (IP camera, wireless AP, IP phone) and non-PoE devices (router, computer, NVR) connect to the switch, with power delivery indicated for PoE devices.
Note: The switch supports automatic PoE device detection. It will not supply power to 24V passive PoE devices.
Operating Instructions
Plug and Play Operation
The Binardat PoE switch is unmanaged and requires no configuration. Simply connect the power cord and Ethernet cables, and the switch will automatically negotiate connections with connected devices.
VLAN Isolation Mode
The DIP switch on the front panel allows you to enable VLAN isolation for enhanced network security.
- Default Mode (DIP Switch Left): All ports can communicate with each other.
- VLAN Mode (DIP Switch Right): When set to "VLAN", ports 1-8 can only communicate with port 9 (the 10G SFP+ slot). Ports 1-8 cannot communicate with each other, which helps protect the security of individual network segments.

Image: Diagram illustrating port-based VLAN functionality, showing how ports 1-8 are isolated from each other but can communicate with port 9 when VLAN mode is enabled.
LED Indicators
Monitor the status of the switch and connected devices using the LED indicators:
| Indicator | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| PWR | Green | Power On |
| LINK/ACT (Ports 1-8) | Orange (Up) | 100/1000Mbps Link/Activity |
| Green (Up) | 2.5G Link/Activity | |
| PoE (Ports 1-8) | Orange (Down) | PoE Power On |
| LINK/ACT (Port 9) | Orange | 2.5G Link/Activity (for SFP+ module) |
Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your switch, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the switch. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the cooling fan and ventilation openings are not obstructed. Proper airflow is crucial for heat dissipation.
- Environment: Operate the switch in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- Cable Management: Keep network cables organized to prevent strain on ports and improve airflow.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Binardat PoE switch, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power:
- Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the switch and a working power outlet.
- Check if the Power LED indicator is illuminated.
- No Network Connection:
- Verify that Ethernet cables are properly connected to both the switch port and the network device.
- Check the Link/Act LED for the corresponding port. If it is off, try a different cable or port, or check the connected device.
- Ensure the connected device is powered on and functioning correctly.
- PoE Not Working:
- Confirm that the connected device is a standard IEEE802.3af/at compliant PoE Powered Device (PD).
- Check the PoE LED for the specific port. If it is off, the device may not be receiving power.
- Ensure the total power consumption of all PoE devices does not exceed the switch's 130W PoE budget.
- Slow Network Speed:
- Verify that your network cables are rated for 2.5G speeds (e.g., Cat5e or better).
- Check the Link/Act LED color to confirm the negotiated speed (Green for 2.5G, Orange for 100/1000Mbps).
- Ensure connected devices also support 2.5G speeds.
