The wrench features a dual scale for precise torque settings in both Foot-pounds (Ft.lb) and Newton-meters (Nm). The scale is clearly marked for easy reading and adjustment.

Setup

  1. Select the Appropriate Head: Choose between the 38mm adjustable open-end head or the 1/2" ratchet head based on your application.
  2. Attach the Head: Align the chosen head with the 9x12mm square interface on the torque wrench body. Insert the head firmly until it clicks into place. For secure attachment and removal, use a 4mm flat head hex wrench if needed, as indicated in the product features.
  3. Set the Torque Value:
    • Locate the locking knob at the base of the handle.
    • Pull down the locking knob and hold it.
    • Rotate the handle to adjust the main scale and the micro-scale until the desired torque value (e.g., 5-45 Ft.lb or 7-61 Nm) is displayed.
    • Release the locking knob. It will automatically rebound to lock the set value. Verify the setting before use.

Operating Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fastener: Ensure the fastener and mating surfaces are clean and free of debris.
  2. Position the Wrench: Place the wrench head onto the fastener, ensuring a snug fit. For the open-end head, position it to allow for a full pull. For the ratchet head, ensure the direction switch is set for tightening.
  3. Apply Torque: Apply smooth, steady pressure to the handle. Do not jerk or apply sudden force.
  4. Listen for the "Click": Continue applying pressure until you feel and hear a distinct "click" from the wrench. This indicates that the preset torque value has been reached.
  5. Stop Applying Force: Immediately stop applying force once the "click" is felt/heard. Further tightening can over-torque the fastener and damage the workpiece or the wrench.
  6. Repeat if Necessary: For critical applications, it is recommended to re-check the torque after a short period, especially if the fastener is new or has been subjected to vibration.
