2. Safety Information

4. Installation Instructions

4.1 Pre-Installation Notes

  • If your ceiling fan has pull chains for speed and light control, ensure they are set to the highest speed and the light is turned ON before installing the receiver. This allows the wireless remote control to function correctly.

4.2 Wiring the Receiver

  1. Turn off the main power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker.
  2. Disconnect the existing ceiling fan wiring.
  3. Connect the receiver according to the wiring diagram provided. Match the colors of the wires from the receiver to the corresponding wires from the ceiling fan and the household electrical supply. Use the included wire nuts to secure connections.

  4. Carefully tuck all wires and the receiver into the fan canopy.

4.3 Remote Control Pairing (Learn Function)

The remote control and receiver need to be paired for proper operation. This process is typically done during installation.

  1. Ensure the receiver is correctly installed and power is restored to the fan.
  2. Open the battery slot on the remote control and insert 2 CR2032 batteries (not included).
  3. On the back of the remote control, locate the 'LEARN' button.
  4. Press and hold the 'LEARN' button for approximately 4 seconds until the fan light flashes. This indicates successful pairing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Remote Control Functions

The remote control provides direct access to all fan and light functions:

  • Fan On/Off: Press the power button to turn the fan on or off.
  • Light On/Off/Dimmer: Press the light button to turn the light on or off. Press and hold the light button to adjust brightness (dimming function).
  • Fan Speed Control: Separate buttons for Low, Medium, and High fan speeds.
  • Timing Function: Set the fan to turn off automatically after 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours.

5.2 Smart App Control (Smart Life App)

The kit is compatible with the Smart Life App for iOS and Android devices, allowing for advanced control and automation.

  1. Download and install the "Smart Life" app from your device's app store.
  2. Open the app and register or log in to your account.
  3. Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz or 5.8GHz networks are not supported for initial device connection.
  4. Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
  5. In the Smart Life App, click the "+" icon to add a device.
  6. The app may automatically search for nearby devices. If not, navigate to "Small Home Appliances" and select "Fan (BLE)".
  7. To put the fan control into pairing mode, turn off the ceiling fan power for 5 seconds (using the wall switch or circuit breaker, not the remote), then turn it back on. Immediately press and hold the power button on the wall control for 5 seconds. The fan light will flash twice, indicating it is in network distribution mode.
  8. Once the device is discovered in the app, click "Add" and follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
  9. After successful connection, you can control the fan and light, adjust brightness, and set schedules directly from the app.

5.3 Voice Control (Alexa & Google Assistant)

Once connected to the Smart Life App, you can link your account to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for voice control.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not connecting to Smart Life App: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The device does not support 5GHz or 5.8GHz networks for initial setup. Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
  • Remote control not responding: Check if the batteries in the remote control are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Ensure the remote and receiver are properly paired using the 'LEARN' function.
  • Fan or light not working after installation: Double-check all wiring connections according to the diagram. Ensure the main power to the fan is on. If your fan has pull chains, confirm they are set to the highest speed and the light is on.
  • Humming noise from fan: Some fan motors may produce a slight hum with certain control units. This can sometimes be related to compatibility with older fan models or specific motor types.
